I frequently find myself reading the title of a thread and "answering" it before then clicking and reading the actual post.
(I'd post the latest example which inspired this thread, but I'd rather not on the off-chance of hurting someone's feelings.)
To clarify, I'm not talking serious answers. Just silly (or sillier
), witty (or less than
) and maybe even somewhat sarcastic (or more than somewhat
) "off the top of one's head" kinda thoughts. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred (I find I do a lot of counting as well, but I digress
), I chuckle to myself and hit the back button, realizing how seriously silly, downright dumb and/or incredibly inappropriate my first thought is with regards to what the post is actually about.
(You know it's gettin' pretty bad when ya find yourself doing a darn good imitation of Zeus-from-Hercules' *laughter* I KILL myself! *more laughter* for an audience of one.
Unless you count the cat.
)
So do you do it too?
Tell me I'm not the only one!
Of course, if I learn that I'm not the only one who does this, I'll be too paranoid to start any more threads (which could be a good thing
).
Then again, paranoid could compliment crazy quite well...
