To all the hyenas

So, I guess Crazy had a panic attack in the airport. She called DBF cuz she couldn't find first aid and couldn't find any workers. She finally found someone to help her, they took her to first aid and gave her oxygen. It still wasn't helping so they called the paramedics who decided she shouldn't fly. :woohoo: (Just kidding) So I guess they call her doctor and he says she'll be fine to fly and she made it to the gate just in time to board the plane.

I see a very interesting week ahead.:rotfl:

Oh wow.

Moto, you reminded me of a funny from my teenage years. My dad has this cousin, whom he's always called "Crazy" or "Crazy Cousin". I should explain, too, that my dad's family is big on nicknames, family members don't usually call each other by their real name for some reason.

My dad and Crazy were born in a small town in North Dakota, but interestingly both wound up living in the Northwest. Crazy lived about 1.5 hours south of us.

We visited them once or twice, and they talked on the phone quite a bit, I think they even went hunting together a few times.

Anyway, so I never knew the guy's name, only that his last name was the same as my grandmother's maiden name, and that he was my dad's cousin. So we get a call, I answer it, and this guy says, "Hey, this is Xxxxxx Yyyyyy, can I speak to your dad?"

Since my dad always wanted to know who was calling, I said, "Oh, are you Crazy?"

He paused, then said, "Uhhhh, I guess so." :lmao:

So I went to tell my dad that Crazy was on the phone. I told him the name, and I said, "He's Crazy, right?"

My dad cringed and asked, "Oh, geez, you didn't call him that, did you?" I said of course I did, that's what he always called him, and he said, "Well, not to his face!"

Well, HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT??? :rotfl2:

Mornin guys:goodvibes ...I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO up too early...woke up a few minutes after 6 and decided to get up...I have to go take a shower in a few minutes because I have a doctor appt. for my arm...so I have some news...I guess its good news but Im a little scared and am trying not to be cause I dont want to stress myself out but.....I think all of you know about the issues with my arm from having carpal tunnel surgery..it didnt take all the way and since last august, Ive had alot of issues...no strength...pain (alot of it) and swelling...so Ive missed alot of work since then and since Nov. have been on and off short term disability..I actually havent been to work since mid jan. well...they decided that I need to file for long term disability because I have ADA restrictions that my job doesnt want to accomodate me on...so I did and it was accepted and I guess as in a few weeks will no longer be employed...I am filing for ss as well but that takes like 6 months...Im scared because they do a yearly recertification and what happens if someone has a bad day and decides nope we dont want to honor that anymore??? Im out of a job and then what? Im only 42 yo...they dont know whats wrong with my arm...Ive done the mri, xrays, tests and they cant figure it out....but if my job isnt going to let me come back to work and wont accomodate my needs then what other option do I have? just pray for me guys that I wont end up completely broke and homeless...thats the one thing I cant handle is my security being pulled out from underneath me....
Oh Lynn..:grouphug: I hope things get better, and they figure out what is going on.
Good morning!

So...Crazy's flight from Denver to Ontario got canceled this morning. :scared1:
:cool1: :cool1:
Nope, she still coming. :rotfl:

Insted of flying into Ontario they got her on a flight to LAX that will come in at 3:14 this afternoon. She was only supposed to have a 2 hour lay over in Denver but now its 6 hours! :scared1:
:guilty:
Today must be the day for medical issues. :guilty:

I just heard from a friend (and former coworker) that the wife of a guy we worked with years ago has been hospitalized for the last month, has been declared brain-dead, and they are saying goodbyes and turning off life support today.

I am sooooo sad. When we met, he was a college intern assigned to work in our group, and he and she were dating. She was bubbly and just a lovely person, and they were talking about getting married but he was scared. I pointed out how many happily married people he knew (us included), and he did wind up asking her to marry him.

When they began talking about kids, he came and asked me what it was like. I told him (like I tell everyone) that is the hardest and best thing I've ever done, there is nothing as rewarding in the world.

A few years ago he was showing me pictures of his two little ones, I think they're each a couple of years younger than my two. I am sick at the thought of them being so young and losing their mother.

And my poor friend, losing his partner. They really were such a good team. :sad1:
Oh no! Thats awful. :sad1:

I think all the hyena's could use this today :goodvibes
Thanks, pixster and dizzy. It's a very emotional day, that's for sure.

DH called while I was in the middle of crying. I'd forwarded the email on to him, because he knew the husband, and has met the wife, though that was quite awhile ago.

He said, "Wow, I didn't realize this would be so upsetting to you, honey." I'm just so sad for my friend, sad that this bright, sweet, funny lady is gone, and that her two kids no longer have a mother. I haven't talked to him in a couple years, I'm sure that's why DH was surprised.

I asked if my friend still works there, and he said yes, and that he sees him now and then. He didn't remember meeting the wife, but when I reminded him that he had, he said, "Oh yeahhhh, I do remember her now. Gosh, she was a real bubbly girl, wasn't she?" and I said yes, that was her.

I cannot wait to hear about your adventures with Crazy. She really does sound CRAZY!

I will give you a break and refrain from sending my little blue guys after you today

You are too quick, I just noticed it myself and fixed it. Pix had said something sweet before that, but I forgot to copy it in also. Thank you.

I'm kind of curious what she does in her panic attack mode! Does she just hyperventilate or really freak out? At least she had enough presence of mind to try to find First Aid!

Moto, make sure you keep that paper bag handy!

I'm curious about the timing of the attack. Is this to drum up some more attention from you dbf? Or to make her situation more dire so she gets her way more?

She is crazy! Keep a humourous outlook on it and it should be an entertaining visit.

Oh yes. I call them Family Legends. (My dad's side of the family is Native American.)

Almost as funny as the first time DH met my family. :sad2:
;) Now that sounds like a story I want to hear!!

Totally! Some day you will be able to look back at this and laugh! I hope..:lmao:

:lmao: We have a curse in our family. If you ever made fun of a bald person you become bald. So we have on video tape of my cousin and one of my brothers making fun of my uncle and calling him peach fuzz. Well, My uncle made fun of HIS Uncle for being bald and now my brother and my cousin are both balding at 30. On the video tape my other brother and I are swimming in the lake completely ignoring all the teasing, which is really unlike us. But we believed in the curse and we have a full head of hair.

Never believed genetics picked who would bald and who wouldnt. It was completely whether you made fun of them or not! :lmao:
