Mornin guys:goodvibes ...I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO up too early...woke up a few minutes after 6 and decided to get up...I have to go take a shower in a few minutes because I have a doctor appt. for my arm...so I have some news...I guess its good news but Im a little scared and am trying not to be cause I dont want to stress myself out but.....I think all of you know about the issues with my arm from having carpal tunnel surgery..it didnt take all the way and since last august, Ive had alot of issues...no strength...pain (alot of it) and swelling...so Ive missed alot of work since then and since Nov. have been on and off short term disability..I actually havent been to work since mid jan. well...they decided that I need to file for long term disability because I have ADA restrictions that my job doesnt want to accomodate me on...so I did and it was accepted and I guess as in a few weeks will no longer be employed...I am filing for ss as well but that takes like 6 months...Im scared because they do a yearly recertification and what happens if someone has a bad day and decides nope we dont want to honor that anymore??? Im out of a job and then what? Im only 42 yo...they dont know whats wrong with my arm...Ive done the mri, xrays, tests and they cant figure it out....but if my job isnt going to let me come back to work and wont accomodate my needs then what other option do I have? just pray for me guys that I wont end up completely broke and homeless...thats the one thing I cant handle is my security being pulled out from underneath me....

Is this a blessing in disguise? :cool1:

Nope, she still coming. :rotfl:

Insted of flying into Ontario they got her on a flight to LAX that will come in at 3:14 this afternoon. She was only supposed to have a 2 hour lay over in Denver but now its 6 hours! :scared1:

Yeah, maybe someone told them Giselle would be in the next photo shoot and they got all pissy.

OR the princes went out drinking last night and got home late so they are all mad.

That is what I was thinking - I swear Ariel looks high :confused3

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!

It was so hot yesterday but it's finally starting to cool down starting today. The rest of the week is in the 60's (thank goodness!!). I cannot stand the high heat! :faint:

Lynn-I'm sorry about your arm. I hope the doctors are able to find out what is wrong.

Alison- I hope your surgery goes well. We will miss you and we wish you a speedy recovery! :grouphug:

Lynn, this sounds very similar to what happened to me in my 20s. All the symptoms pointed to carpal tunnel syndrome, but the tests all came back negative. After three months of worsening symptoms and more painful tests, they finally concluded that SOMETHING was wrong, and they'd better get in there and fix it.

So they did a carpel tunnel release. The symptoms got better, but I had about 50% sensation back in my hand. More tests, more inconclusion, so this time they did what they termed a median nerve release. Basically they put a huge freakin' zigzag scar (5 inches maybe?) on the inside of my arm, centered at the elbow. With the zigzag shape and the length, they were able to look all the way from my shoulder to my wrist to find the problem.

The only thing they found was a string of muscle that was pulling tight against the nerve, so they cut the muscle. Ta-daaaa! I have most of the feeling and normal function of my hand today, just a little residual 'weirdness', like those fingerpads are kinda smooth and don't sweat. :confused3

The longer it goes without treatment the more likely there will be permanent damage, so keep on going to the doc appointments and pushing for a solution! :thumbsup2

And hang in there. I tell you, I have never been so sick of doctors and tests in my life, so I know how hard this is.

We got your back Lynn! :lmao:

Today must be the day for medical issues. :guilty:

I just heard from a friend (and former coworker) that the wife of a guy we worked with years ago has been hospitalized for the last month, has been declared brain-dead, and they are saying goodbyes and turning off life support today.

I am sooooo sad. When we met, he was a college intern assigned to work in our group, and he and she were dating. She was bubbly and just a lovely person, and they were talking about getting married but he was scared. I pointed out how many happily married people he knew (us included), and he did wind up asking her to marry him.

When they began talking about kids, he came and asked me what it was like. I told him (like I tell everyone) that is the hardest and best thing I've ever done, there is nothing as rewarding in the world.

A few years ago he was showing me pictures of his two little ones, I think they're each a couple of years younger than my two. I am sick at the thought of them being so young and losing their mother.

And my poor friend, losing his partner. They really were such a good team. :sad1:

That's awful Alex!! :( I'm sorry to hear that.

So, I guess Crazy had a panic attack in the airport. She called DBF cuz she couldn't find first aid and couldn't find any workers. She finally found someone to help her, they took her to first aid and gave her oxygen. It still wasn't helping so they called the paramedics who decided she shouldn't fly. :woohoo: (Just kidding) So I guess they call her doctor and he says she'll be fine to fly and she made it to the gate just in time to board the plane.

I see a very interesting week ahead.:rotfl:
