Get this: DH put Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban on this afternoon for the kids. I made some noise about it being inappropriate for DS3, and DH said, "Who are you kidding? He loves it, it's DS7 that thinks it's too scary!" :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: The first movie Alex ever watched was the first HP movie. I think He was 1? He sat through the whole thing, just enthralled!

Noah's first movie was at a second run cheap theatre.. Toy Story :goodvibes WE had his in his car seat and wedged it on the theatre seat so he could see, I think he was 9 mos old.. totally enthralled, quiet and fell asleep during the last 30 minutes. Pretty good at the time.. the kid never slept :headache:

I can feel you with those plane tickets... If I would have payed full price for our tickes, it would have cost us almost $1400. to fly to DL!:scared1: NO WAY!! I used our miles, and it only cost us $460.:woohoo: :woohoo: of course now our miles are completely depleted... but i am okay with that!:lmao:

oh fine...

So is anyone else surprised by how fast November is flying by? Years ago (before kids) I used to try to get all my shopping done before Thanksgiving, or at least have a majority of it done by then. My mom and I would take an overnight trip to a big outlet mall (back when they weren't in every other town) and shop and eat for two days!

Well, those days are over, I'm lucky to be done shopping by Christmas Eve, and then frantically wrap until everyone shows up to unwrap. :rotfl:

can I tell you a secret? I have been known not to do any shopping until Christmas Eve!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: dh and I never get each other anything, and the kids are cool with whatever. Plus we have never been the primary christmas buyers for our kids... Grandma and grandpa used to have that covered. The would spoil the kids rotten!!!:lmao:

OMG, that just reminded me of the funniest story!

One of my former co-workers told me about when she took her precocious 3yo with her to the laundromat. She was loading a pile of clothes into a dryer, and noticed her daughter going around from person to person in the laundromat. Each person would either nod or shake their head, then she'd go on to the next one. My friend pulled her head out of the dryer just in time to hear one older gentleman say loudly, "What did you say?" and her sweet little cherub, who knew that older folks are sometimes hard of hearing, shouted out, "I SAID DO YOU HAVE A {WIZARD}?!" (Insert your own euphemism, but she actually used the appropriate term.) :scared1: :rotfl2:

 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I would DIE!!! OMG!!!!

I was puzzling over the gift giving for my family this year. I try to do something different each year.
One year it was BBW stuff for everyone, another family gifts, another was silly things that I found on clearance to stockpile during the whole year.
Last year I brought a bunch of small gifts and we did the dice game, everyone walked away with something... parents switched gifts with their kids, my dad gave his candy to the grandsons as he is diabetic... Had a little war going on between my Dad and my BIL over the last gift, swiping it back and forth a few rounds :lmao:

This year we won't be there, can't see us driving thru Colorado in the winter :scared: Summer isn't bad, I can just imagine getting stuck in a blizzard in the mountains (or even along the corn fields in Iowa).

Besides, I feel weird buying igfts for adults when they can just as easily buy thier own things they want.. need to get creative this year... hmmmmm....
