Good morning, hyenas!
Drizzly and cool here, with a stoopid freakin' woodpecker pecking on my house right near the bedroom window! Dang bird keeps early hours...

Today I'm finally going in for a haircut. And a perm. I know perms are so passe at the moment, but without one it's hard to tell that I have hair, so one does what one must.

DH is home today (yay!) but has a two hour meeting to attend via phone (boo! hiss!) so is it really a day off? I don't know that he really has those anymore, there's always at least one little thing that must be done each day. At least he can relax, thumb his nose at people who can't see him , take a nap with DS3 this afternoon. It was a rough week, but it's nearly over, thank goodness.

OK, I'm off to get a few things done before I leave for my appointment. Have a great day, all!

Good Morning Hyena's!!!

Have to finish cleaning up so we can drive to Gilbert today, but wanted to check in real quick. Just finished catching up on the posts I missed - and all I have to say is wow, and at least I know it is not the end of the world if I miss a night or two!!!

Have to finish cleaning up so we can drive to Gilbert today, but wanted to check in real quick. Just finished catching up on the posts I missed - and all I have to say is wow, and at least I know it is not the end of the world if I miss a night or two!!!

Hey Albort, What weekend in December do you think would be less crowded at Disneyland and CA Adventure...the 8-9 or 15-16? I have to change the dates of my trip (but it means I get to go to Disneyland sooner!) I want to go while the Holiday decorations are up and it has to be on a weekend.

Ugh... what a morning. I am soo freaking tired. So the phone rings at 6:30 this morning. I know what it is, because if the phone rings that early, it is generally one thing, and one thing only. DH is going to be late, so I need to get up, get the baby up, get dressed and drag our buts down to the bus stop to drop Alex off. gag. Thankfully Alex is perfectly capable of getting himself up and ready for school, and doesnt need breakfast before he leaves. I dont think I could handle all that at 7:00 in the morning. I am NOT a morning person!

So I get the phone, and sure enough, hes going to be late. But forgets to tell me HOW late. So we get Alex to the bus... He leaves for school, we come home and get ready, and wait.. and wait... and WAIT!!! Its payday Friday, and we generally have a bunch of things we do. Grocery shopping, and hit walmart for diapers and other incidentals.. He finally gets home around 9. And we head off to Costco, because it was to late to drive all the way out to Walmart. Then he drops the bomb. Sooooo... I had been lobbying for him to take the weekend off, right? Yeah, right. Not only is he working... AND working NEXT weekend, but he is pulling 12s. BUT he is taking all Thanksgiving weekend off. 4 whole days, then I dont get to see him again til we leave for our trip. I told him they better not pull this stuff when we get home from our trip. but after the shop being shut down for a week, I dont have high hopes.

So now Im tired, cranky, and Im pretty sure Im PMSing. Ugh... Everyone be glad you are not at the Staley house today! Alison, where are you with your shining attitude this morning? I sure could use you right now! I think Ill just break out in a dance to make myself feel better... Oh yeah.. thats MUCH better.

CHEER UP STALEY!!

That sucks that your DH's work schedule is so hectic. I understand your frustration and I'm sure he's not thrilled about it either. My bf used to work from 9am to 6pm at his previous job. I was used to those hours and we could hang out afterwards. Now things are different and he's not only a pharmacy tech but he also has the responsibility of being a night supervisor. He works from late in the afternoon and comes home past midnight. His only days off are the weekends. Most of his co-workers have to work weekdays + weekends, so I'm grateful that he doesn't. It bothered me at first and sometimes it still does, but I've grown a bit used to it. At his work place there is no such thing as a 9am-5pm job. Some of them work even worse hours from 5:30am until 1 or 2pm.

Sometimes I'll be awake for a little while when he returns home but other times I'm already asleep. I have to work 8am-5pm so I don't get to spend time with him after work. It sucks, but at the same time it has it's good points too. I get to run errands or take care of things without having to drag him along with me. If I need to go to the mall I can go by myself and not have to worry about him being a grouch. I don't like to drag him places and vice-versa. If he were with me he'd just be cranky from waiting around. Sometimes we will go the store together (mostly groceries or Walmart) but it's because we both need to get things.

I know you miss him and I'm sure he misses you and the kids. Hang in there, hopefully this won't be permanent!
