Ehhh.. Who needs sleep? :confused3 Not me!!:lmao: Dh is very against me taking anything to help me sleep.. I dont know... maybe he thinks it would be better that he stays up all day and takes care of the kids, and cooks and cleans, and does homework, and entertains the children?

GOSH, I can't keep my eyes open. I better get to bd.
Good night, pix. :)

<---- Alex I found a smiley for you ;) J/k!

Good Morning Hyenas! It's been a busy couple of days. My FIL was elk hunting with DH. MIL was staying at my SIL's house. They decided to come spend a couple of days with me & the kids. They are both very lovely, dear people. But they left this morning and I'm elated to have the house back!:rotfl:

They always bring their dog with them and she's a large indoor dog. They obviously think I'm cruel because I leave my 2 dogs outdoors (except at night when they are allowed to sleep inside the laundry room). So we had 3 large dogs inside, as well as our 2 new kittens! Myself, 1 grumpy teenager, 1 9yo boy, and 2 grandparents!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Might I say it was a bit chaotic. They also feed & water the animals inside. This morning DS was already dressed for school, went to put a couple of bagels in the toaster and stepped in the bowl of dog water!:rotfl2:

Plus, I couldn't DIS because grandpa was sitting in the chair near the computer and the phone cord wasn't long enough to reach anywhere else. It was tragic I tell you! Also I think they are starting to be hard of hearing because the TV was on so loud I couldn't hear myself think. Plus everytime the dogs growled at the kittens or anyone made any noise they turned the TV up louder!:scared1:

I really do love them, they are very awesome people and I couldn't ask for better inlaws. But it's just nice to have things back to normal!:thumbsup2

Good Morning Hyenas!

The weather today is nice- 73 degrees right now. It's a little misty/foggy outside.

I tried some Philosophy brand face wash and lotion. The face wash is called Purity and the lotion is called Hope in a Jar. The sales girl told me that Purity is for all skin types and won't cause dryness. Then she started going on about something that sounded like seaweed. It says it's for "all skin types" but it dried my skin really bad, burned my skin and caused some red bumps. I washed it off with regular soap last night and I woke up and the bumps are gone. I guess my skin is sensitive to something in those. They also have a product called "Kiss Me" that is an exfoliating lip scrub. Well that stung like hades when I tried it. :scared1: You just rub some on your lips and rinse it off or wipe it off with a tissue. I also tried a lip gloss called "Big Mouth" that is supposed to make your "lips plump for that bee stung look," but it burned my lips and made it feel like I was really stung by a bee!

What face wash/lotion do you guys use? I use Neutrogena but it dries out my skin.

Good morning, hyenas!
Drizzly, drippy, humid, cloudy, cool. :umbrella:

AMEN to that!

We recently had DH's step-grandma visit for a few days. It was great, she's such a lovely person, adores the boys and lavishes them with love and attention. But it does disrupt the routine, you get out of 'your groove', and no matter how nice the visit is, it's still great when things get back to normal! ::yes::

I use the liquid Neutrogena also, and it dries my skin horribly, too. And it's supposed to be one of the gentlest facial soaps. I have very sensitive skin, too, and it breaks out easily. One of my lame-o reasons for not wearing full make-up anymore... :rolleyes1

Anyway, it seems I passed the sensitive skin on to both boys, who struggle with eczema, so the doc told me to use Cetaphil liquid soap for cleaning, and Cetaphil lotion for afterward. (We also have medicated ointment for the eczema breakouts.)

I neglected to bring the Cetaphil with us to Disneyland, and DS3 (who already had some bad eczema breakouts) broke out horribly while we were there! We're still trying to clear up a few spots!

DS7 hadn't had any issues for a few years, but even he had a breakout at DL because (I assume) we were in the pool and bathing more frequently because of the sunscreen and sweat.

The Cetaphil is probably good for my skin as well, though it's kinda pricey, I haven't started using it. Neutrogena is pricey, too, though, maybe I should compare... I got the Cetaphil at Costco in a large two-pack. Definitely worth getting!

I agree. As much as you love family, sometimes you can't wait for them to leave. It's nice to have things nice and quiet again without all the hussle and bussle. :rolleyes1

I've been buying Neutrogrena's Rapid Clear face lotion and face wash. I don't have any acne but if I noticed that if I stop using it I'll get a pimple or my face will be a bit oily/dry. :confused3 Their products are expensive. It costs $6 for the face wash at Walmart.

I've tried Oil of Olay products and they smell bad or they cause pimples. I will look for the Cetaphil you mentioned. Hopefully that will work. :thumbsup2

Just as a side note, one of my cousins tried Oil of Olay years ago, like in her 20s, and had the worst breakout I've ever seen! Her mom took photos, and it was truly awful, big red blistery type of bumps covering most of her face. I have never tried it because of that (knowing I also have sensitive skin.) :scared:

That reminded me of something funny! Right after we got back from DL I wore a lip gloss or a lip stick all the time because my lips were really dry. I noticed a few days before the weekend that my lips were really itchy, too, and I chalked it up to them being sooo dry they were actually flaking. So I'd catch myself rubbing my lips together, or picking at the dried flakes.

So on Friday I woke and my lips look like Angelina Jolie's, I am NOT EXAGGERATING! And they itched even more, and hurt. I was obviously having some sort of allergic reaction, but to what? The lip gloss I've worn a million times? (But it's an older tube...) The lipstick I've worn a few times? DH wanted me to go to the doc, but I wanted to wait and see.

The next day we got together with my family to celebrate my birthday, and my mom noticed my big lips, even though they weren't as swollen as the day before. She joked that she assumed I'd had some lip plumping done.

Thats funny!!! DW was talking about buying a new tube of lip gloss, and I asked her why she needed a new one, since the old one still had some in in. She told me that a "fungus" can develop on lipstick/gloss and that many dermatologists say to throw them away after six months or so, depending on enviroment (humid moist etc.) since it comes in contact with your lips, it is constantly getting moist, etc. and possibly developing micro-organisems:scared1: Ewwwwwww:eek:

Ack! :scared1:

(Tossing the tube away now...)

that is hillarious

you will never guess what happened to me ???
i am indeed sick i have a fever and a very upset stomach so i am just laying in bed doing nothing. praying for the cold hand of death to take me away:rotfl:

Good Morning Hyena's!!!

Sorry Staley that the hot sauce trick upset you - I guess I should have mentioned that my DS really hated it - but it was completely effective in getting him to stop sticking his tongue out and spitting at me :confused3

Spongemommie - hope you get feeling better - I do suggest though a nap vs. the cold hand of death :scared1:

So hyena's - I guess I am going to have to go pickle myself since there is no love for me anymore - I will try to check in more often - but DH is actually going to start scheduling 5 nights a week because he can't trust any of his peeps :sad2:

I actually have to get dressed for work and pick up DD. Tomorrow we leave for Gilbert and pack up our house (the stupid stuff we haven't needed yet), and then it is goodbye - the sell should be final on Tuesday. Great news - but I am still a bit sad to see the old house go :sad1:
