I'll let you guys know how the movie is, whichever one we see. popcorn:: Hopefully it will be a good movie. :yay:
And at least the popcorn will be good! :thumbsup2

(I don't go to theaters that have stale popcorn, it just ruins everything!) :rotfl:

Well, I'd better scoot and inspect the living room, since that's probably where we'll spend a majority of the afternoon. Toys and clutter seem to migrate into that room when no one is looking, so I want to make sure it's comfortable and there's room to put a drink on the coffee table, for pete's sake! ;)

Have a great day! I hope you enjoy whichever movie you wind up seeing, pixster!

WHOA!!! The sun just popped out!

:rotfl2: Enjoy the sunshine!! :cheer2: Thanks! Have a good time Alex! See ya later! :goodvibes

Mwahahaha... I woke up this morning around 8. I was so surprised that I felt as well rested as I did, considering that I didnt go to bed until 2am. Then dh looked at me and said, "Are you happy you got to sleep an extra hour?" Oh yeah!!!! He also got an extra hour of double time...:rolleyes1 :lmao: He was being VERY nice to me this morning... He knew I was torked about something, but didnt know what. :confused3 How could he not know? Anyhow.. We talked about it for a bit.. I asked him if he could remember when the last time I did anything without the kids... ANYTHING... Even just running to the store for something. No, he cant remember... neither can I for that matter. I explained how everything I do is for the family and I have never asked for something just for myself... He understood, and of course he felt sooo bad that he said I could go!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I told him I would share a room with someone, and he said, "some one I Know, right?" :lmao: Are you worried about me going without you? YES!!! He is all freaked about me going without him!:sad2: NOW we get to the root of the problem!

Egad! I just took the Halloween decor down yesterday. We usually start decorating for xmas on Thanksgiving weekend. But I'm like you I want them down as soon as the holiday is over. I've even been known to take the tree down on the evening of December 25th!

Come on down, we will happily hang you upside down on the roof installing lights! Seriously we are starting to turn into the Griswold family! If we lived on a lot downtown we would totally win the downtown xmas lighting contest! But since we are on property and it's so spread out it doesn't look nearly as impressive.

Hey Staley! Do you want to drive down and split gas costs? Plus I could probably get us one of those $50 rooms to share. I would pay for the room! We could pack food to eat along the way. We could make this a cheap trip!! Tell him "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"! I wanted to go to, but I've just been spending so much money lately, that I want to start saving some more. So that would work for me.

OK, guys...I knew I should have gotten on here last night. Boy you guys really had a depressing thread last night! Remember - THE ONLY THING IN LIFE THAT IS CERTAIN IS CHANGE! Even our families change, kids grow up, husbands get bald, our bottoms get bigger. :lmao: But the one thing is we care about each other. And I know we care about each other here on the Hyena thread! Just sometimes our lives get temporarily busy and we have to change priorities for a while.

I was a little disappointed in our June meet also. But just because I felt torn between my family & the hyenas. It was a bit difficult trying to find a good balance. On one hand I wanted to just party with the girls, but on the other hand I was feeling guilty that I just dumped my family. But I think that's a woman thing - we take care of everyone else, while ignoring our own wants & needs. That's why I think a Ladies Only trip would be awesome.

That's a bad sign Staley!:rotfl2:

I totally get what you mean by being torn between the family and friends thing... I wanted to have some fun just hanging out with everyone, but dh was all bent out of shape while we were there. It was so weird... When we met up with everyone in October, he was totally cool about it! He took the kids off to play so I could chat, and had no issues with it at all! I think the heat was getting to him, plus we werent at DL for very long in June.. I have noticed that long trips work much better for us!

And YES!!! You have to go!!! Especially now that dh said I can go!:lmao: Have I mentioned that in 5 years I have never been without my kids? I might need someone there to reign me in from getting to crazy!:rotfl2:

Hey Megan!!!

Glad to hear your DH is coming around.. But I shouldn't talk, cuz I haven't even said anything to Dave yet!! :rolleyes1

What is this about a depressing thread last night???

Ok, guess what just happened???????????? Dave just came in to see what was going on, and what I was writing!! So he reads my message about not saying anything to him!! Well I guess the cat is out of the bag.......sort of. :rolleyes1 He laughed........................but he doesn't know yet what's really going on. :rotfl:

I think that the Humane Society would want to talk to you about that missy!!:scared1: :wizard:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: OMG!! Melody, you are tooo funny! I knew my dh would come around, he is just really tired right now from working so much. I told him... Hey, at least you will be off work... spend a little time with the kids..:lmao: He looked at me like my head just popped off and rolled out the door. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

OK, I just explained to him what's going on. He didn't have a whole lot to say about it at first. But my DD did. She says.......... I can't believe you are willing to stay with people you have met off the internet. You would never let me do that!!!!!!!!! So then DH pipes up too. Then I come back with.....well if you talked to people on the internet about cars, and auto parapaphanalia (sp?), and there was a big meet you'd want to go. And he agreed.

We go from here...................

I might also be making another big train trip this spring, so I have to see about the whole thing.

I know! Dh was adamant that I share a room with one of you... He was all freaked out that I would share a room with someone I dont know. But hello!!!! I have met everyone of the Hyenas... Except the newbies!:lmao:

His mom lives by you??

Unfortunately...:scared: about 10 minutes away. But she was a huge help when my dad died... She watched the kids while dh worked, and then stayed at our house while dh came to Reno for the funeral. She means well... she's just a little insane!:lmao:

I know it's kind of weird to stay with someone you don't know that well, but I've done it. Last year I stayed with 3 other ladies from school at Long Beach, when my DD was a State History Day finalist. But it was fine. When my oldest DD was in dance competitions, I shared alot of rooms then too.

Just don't leave hairs on the sink, and pick up your dirty underware, is all I ask!! :rotfl:

All you guys should have a picture taken with a crazed look on your face and holding a kitchen knife. Then exchange photos via PM or E-mail. And then show them to your respective DH's telling them. This is the Hyenas I'm staying with, they look normal for a DIS'er!!:scared1: :rolleyes1

(Also, see how many DH's try and increase your life insurance!!!)

:
Alison- my aunt went to Costco yesterday and I asked her get me a bag of those Multigrain chips you were talking about. She said she couldn't find it. :confused3 I don't think my Costco carries it. :(

Last night I went over to my litte sister's house and played the new HSM game for the Wii. It's just like Karaoke Revolution for Playstation2. It was fun but I noticed that if you sing solo it automatically gives you all the male vocals. We tried to see if we could change it but you can only get the female vocals if you play 2 player. :confused3 The game is okay and it's cool that the characters do the same dance moves as in the movie. I think it costs $51 for the game plus 1 microphone at Costco. It's not even out yet at Best Buy (they won't get it until Nov. 13th) and it costs $69 there.

See, and people think that discrimination against women doesn't exist anymore! Reminds me of the time my boss (he was in his 80's at the time) told me to call his daughter's house and see if a man answered. She had gotten a new answering machine and a "man's voice" was on it! We got a good laugh after I told him that it was the answering machine automated voice!

So to give you a little perspective on me, I am a SAHM, DH and I are very involved with our kids, and we don't make enough effort to get out and socialize much. It's a big deal for us to get out of the house for an evening alone, and even on the rare occasion that we do, it's usually just for dinner and conversation, then back home. I can't even tell you the last time that happened, but it was in 2006...

So here's been my life the last week:

Friday, Oct. 26: My closest girlfriends and I, who together have 9 children about the same ages (2yo through 7yo) had a Girls Night Out! We just started doing this in September, and we are having so much fun! We are planning to do this one evening a month.

Saturday, Oct. 27: I attended an all-day scrapbook workshop. What a blast! I am still working on the pages for our first Disneyland trip in fall 2006, and I can't believe how much the boys have grown in just one year! I attend a workshop about 3 times a year.

Monday, Oct. 29 - Thursday, Nov. 1: DH's step-grandma came to visit. (Grandpa was a widower, and met up with his childhood friend at a class reunion. They married the same year we did, so she is the only "great-grandma" the boys have known.) Grandpa died in 2005, which was hard for all of us, especially her of course. She last visited in spring 2006, so it was wonderful to see her, and the boys eat up all her attention like little sponges. Definitely a win-win visit, everyone is happy!

Saturday, Nov. 3: I attended a scrapbook convention in town. It occurs only once a year, and I try to go every year. I didn't sign up quick enough to attend any classes, but enjoyed just shopping on the vendor floor and doing a few make-and-takes. I love seeing all the beautiful new papers and fun gadgets! I even bought a very expensive one that should ship within the week, WOOHOO!!!

Sunday, Nov. 4: An old college friend of DH's and mine is coming to visit today. I'm so excited! I haven't seen her for like 2+ years, and at the time she was newly divorced and starting on a totally new career path. She's now a newlywed. The business she started previously went well but the partnership with another person didn't, so now she's embarking on another venture, and I can't wait to talk with her!

It just stuns me that I can go weeks, or months without much change in the routine, and here all this activity has occurred on a little over a week! GEESH, I hope I haven't used up my quota of excitement for the year... :rotfl2:

Here's all I have to say on the matter!

I know it's kind of weird to stay with someone you don't know that well, but I've done it. Last year I stayed with 3 other ladies from school at Long Beach, when my DD was a State History Day finalist. But it was fine. When my oldest DD was in dance competitions, I shared alot of rooms then too.

Well I guess I'll be bunking with someone else then!:rotfl: Is it ok to leave dirty underwear in the sink though?:confused3 :lmao: Seriously though I'm sort of a neat freak, and no one has to worry about me leaing hairs on the sink, my hair isn't long enough yet!

I worked on 2 Lady Scout Badges today - fitness & nutrition. I took a trip to Trader Joe's - you guys were right, I love that store!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It get's 2 thumbs up.

Then I went to the skate park with DS & my nephew. I nearly busted my **** on the skateboard (I guess it has been about 25 years or so!). But I had a blast on the scooters. So I'm going tomorrow to get me a Razor Scooter! I got a few strange looks from the boys when I went out there. But it was great exercise and I had a blast. There was one hill I was afraid to go down, they cheered for me when I finally got the nerve to go down. I'll just let the rest of the mom's sit in their cars reading books. It was sooooo fun and the scooter's are so easy to ride. I do believe that I've found my new hobby. Actually I told several of the boys that I was having so much fun I was going to invite all of the mom's down to try it and we were going to take over the skate park!! :scared1:

They just built a new skate park in our town, it's only been open for a few weeks, but I can tell I'll be spending quite a bit of time there.
