thanks guys for the :grouphug: Christina I will look at that link...thanks and pix...workmans comp is due to an injury at work...they send you to one of their doctors to identify that it is a work related injury then for treatment...if the treatment doesnt work or gets worse then they send you to a QME which is a court ordered qualified medical examiner...he is the one that tells them if if is a temp or perm disability...he said its permanent and yes they will pay me out but thats not going to last forever and it means that i can no longer work at that job...
Hey Lynn, I just read your post. How sorry that this happening to you all at once. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
I know this sounds crazy, but I've often thought how someone like you and the rest of us would make great tour guides for people going to DL. Like at AAA or something? And then you could venture into WDW? I know it sounds too good to be true, but I do think you would be a great asset to a TON of people who are clueless about the whole DL vacation. I know that after our first trip to WDW, I knew way more about it than my AAA travel agent specialist did, and that was because of the DIS alone!
Anyways, we are here to listen and care about you!!

Pix, have you seen the white witch costume at DL for girls? Not that you are specifically looking for them but I was wondering if you have checked out the halloween stuff and noticed it. I would LOVE for my daughter to be Alice and I would be the Queen of Hearts but she wont go for it. They have a white witch costume on disneyshopping but sometimes they are cheaply made so if they had one at the park we might go and buy it. I like the Alice costume better at the park than the one in the disney store as well. Of course I have to pay a buttload for it.

I think the Halloween stores, such as Halloween Adventures sells those for kids and adults. I've only seen the White Witch and the Queen of Hearts for adults on the disneyshopping website. I don't think they have them at Disney Store. I've only seen the Hannah Montana costume at the Disney Store.

Ehh I will see after this weekend if we decide to go over if they have the childs costume. We have ordered princess dreesses from disney shopping just to have them rip within a few days. I dont mind spending money on them because she plays dress up like EVERYDAY! I was hoping the park would have them as they are made better.

I think so too. I could do her hair all cool. I think she would look cute as Alice too but she is excited to be the white witch.

I agree! Your DD would be smoaken oaken as either one :) Oh mylanta, I really do like Hannah Montana! :sad2:

Oh and Pix my dh applied for restaurant manager and district manager of Jamba Juice. We'll see if anything comes of it. I hope so!:thumbsup2

Time for me to wake the little beastie and dash to the elementary school. Take care, Lynn, and keep us posted. Chin up and all that! :goodvibes

Shawna, GET OUT!!! Is it definite? Maybe? Let me know before Friday!!!

Hi/Bye, Christina, pixster, Tinkermell, Albort, spongie! (Did I miss anyone?) Duty calls... :)

That would be fun. Maybe you could sign up with a travel agency just to get established, they could take a percentage of what you earn and they'll tell their clients about you.

not definite but I'm saying a 98.7495% chance. The man needs a break. He finally went to HR about his new district manager. The guy is nuts, always cussing at them and calling them f...ing idiots and such. Then he almost started a fight with one of J's employees and called him a f...ing immigrant. Jeff was like that's it and filed a formal complaint.

well guys I just had a HUGE bomb dropped on me....alot of you know that I have had problems with my arm for the last year ever since I had carpal tunnel surgery (at least I think most of you know)...well I have been going to a workmans comp dr. all this time and as usual for me it kept getting worse...I recently last month, went to a specialist who stated I am permanently disabled and the accomodations that he wants implemented, my company wont accomodate me...he wants for every half hour I am on the comp to take a 5 minute break and not type...HELLO this is my job...are you crazy??? you really think a HUGE corporation is going to accomodate me??? a veteran in the company who's hourly wage could get them 2 employees for the price of 1???? come on now...so needless to say it is just a matter of a few weeks before I no longer am employed...I will get some money but I have no idea as to how much...I dont even really know what options I am going to have financially? can i collect unemployment? ss? what? what kind of job can I do that doesnt use my hands????? im totally a wreck right now and very scared regarding my security and peace of mind...I can just see myself homeless or having to share a room with someone...I dont want my daughter taking care of me and working 2 jobs to do it *sighs*...my friend said I should get a lawyer now...one who specializes in this kind of thing because the company is not going to be honest and tell me truthfully what options I really do have so righ tnow things are up in the air and i am trying not to go crazy here but its very hard:sad1:

If the doc has determined your disabled, then you qualify for services. Vocational rehab (state services) can work with your employer to provide accomadations. You can slap the whole ADA thing down on them. :thumbsup2
You can collect umeployment but that's only short term, right?
SSDI takes a few months to process so if your empoyer does let you go .. then unemployment would be a good stop gap.

How about short term disablity benefits? You can exhuast those before while waiting for SSDI.

Be assured, you won't be homeless. It might be really tight for awhile waiting for the government to get moving-- but there are programs to help ya out in times like this.

I know we couldn't afford to live here on hubby's disability payments- rent would suck up a big chunk of it. :sad1: Hope things are better for you in your location.

Bright star in all this... you can get med-cal if you're disabled. :woohoo: Something everyone should get for free anyway IMO:mad: I'm kinda peeved with the whole Bush veto on the SCHIP bill. Gimme federally finded medical care-- it's way better than the private sector.. or so we are finding- grrrrr. grrrr. grrrrr... now I'm a little bulldog wanting to nip the heels of the republicans ... grrrrrrrr

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hang in there

Sweet Niblets you do don't you!! Welcome to the club. Wanna go to the Hannah concert with Morgan and I????

This must be the other side, the other side, the other side of me! :lmao: I want to go! I was hoping to go with my little sis in November or December. She's going to be in Los Angeles! :smooth:

Lynn, I'm so sorry! Is this in addition to possible lupus, or the same symptom? I'm hoping you have only one on your plate, that's enough.

When I had CTS ahhhh... 20 years ago (:scared1: ) it was a fairly new diagnosis, and not recognized as a work-related injury. I had just switched to a job where I was on the computer all day long, so my employer asked me to make a WC claim so they'd investigate. Basically I was treated like I was perpetrating fraud by the people interviewing me (these were the WC insurance people and their docs, not related to my company.) It was so frustrating! They basically came down with "there is definitely something wrong with your hand, but you haven't proven it's work related." I really didn't care, I wasn't trying to prove anything, I just wanted IT FIXED! :sad2:

Anyway, I thought just a few years later it WAS recognized as caused by computer work (and other types of work)? This should be a no-brainer.

I just wanted to say that I know how scary it is. I was really freaked out at the time that I wouldn't be able to work again, and wondered what the heck kind of job DOESN'T require the use of your hands??? And how about just getting along in life? We do EVERYTHING with our hands!

I hope things look up soon.

 thanks...but yes this is addition to my other possible illness:headache:
