Lynn, I'm so sorry! Is this in addition to possible lupus, or the same symptom? I'm hoping you have only one on your plate, that's enough.
When I had CTS ahhhh... 20 years ago

scared1: ) it was a fairly new diagnosis, and not recognized as a work-related injury. I had just switched to a job where I was on the computer all day long, so my employer asked me to make a WC claim so they'd investigate. Basically I was treated like I was perpetrating fraud by the people interviewing me (these were the WC insurance people and their docs, not related to my company.) It was so frustrating! They basically came down with "there is definitely something wrong with your hand, but you haven't proven it's work related." I really didn't care, I wasn't trying to prove anything, I just wanted IT FIXED!
Anyway, I thought just a few years later it WAS recognized as caused by computer work (and other types of work)? This should be a no-brainer.
I just wanted to say that I know how scary it is. I was really freaked out at the time that I wouldn't be able to work again, and wondered what the heck kind of job DOESN'T require the use of your hands??? And how about just getting along in life? We do EVERYTHING with our hands!
I hope things look up soon.
