Heck yeah. I hope it works out. He hasnt heard anything but apparently they are supposed to be opening 20 new ones in Phoenix over the next year or so. He would LOVE to work the DTD one of course! :lmao:

Well if it doesn't work out there is always TIMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I'll fill out the application for you guys

18 year olds can go to war but they can't have a beer? I do see your point, but 18 year olds are not in highschool anymore and with increases in education of safe drinking I think it should be lowered.
3 of my kids were still in school at 18 years old. I see what you mean about say voting and joining the army at 18, but that is not such as issue as drinking. High schoolers and not to mention college kids, just don't know when to stop. ( Geesh even old folks don't.) Last year a friend's son was killed driving with a drunk friend. What made it twice as hard is that we know both parents. My DH was trying to councel both sets of them, and kind of a go between. I'll never forget the call that Dale was killed while driving with a drunk driver. Then the next morning we get the call from the parents of the driver, and they are beside themselves. Their son was OK, but now he has to live with that for the rest of his life. He also went to jail.
Then my son's best friend's girlfriend was killed too by a drunk driver.
Oh well, this is just a huge topic without a quick fix.:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Heartbreakingly sad...:sad1:

IMO 18 is too young for ANY mature/life altering decisions, including signing up for military, credit cards and getting married.

Two of my friends were killed in drunk driving accidents in highschool. However, highschoolers are not of the legal drinking age regardless if it's 21 or 18. Most of the people I know that drive drunk are over 21, including the two drivers that killed the teenagers. So I don't think it's so much the age limit as it is the person and their parents for teaching them responsibility. They should not be going to war at 18 if they can't have a beer. But thats just my opinion.

:rotfl2: A few of my friends married at 18...I hope it lasts for them. The young girl is my age and her and her husband are moving in with her parents...I guess she misses home...

My MIL was forced to marry at the age of 14, her mom (let's just say she had issues) was convinced that she was preg..

She had my DH the day after she turned 16-- do the math people. Hubby jokes, it was the longest human pregnancy in history.

If the doc has determined your disabled, then you qualify for services. Vocational rehab (state services) can work with your employer to provide accomadations. You can slap the whole ADA thing down on them. :thumbsup2
You can collect umeployment but that's only short term, right?
SSDI takes a few months to process so if your empoyer does let you go .. then unemployment would be a good stop gap.

How about short term disablity benefits? You can exhuast those before while waiting for SSDI.

Be assured, you won't be homeless. It might be really tight for awhile waiting for the government to get moving-- but there are programs to help ya out in times like this.

I know we couldn't afford to live here on hubby's disability payments- rent would suck up a big chunk of it. :sad1: Hope things are better for you in your location.

Bright star in all this... you can get med-cal if you're disabled. :woohoo: Something everyone should get for free anyway IMO:mad: I'm kinda peeved with the whole Bush veto on the SCHIP bill. Gimme federally finded medical care-- it's way better than the private sector.. or so we are finding- grrrrr. grrrr. grrrrr... now I'm a little bulldog wanting to nip the heels of the republicans ... grrrrrrrr

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hang in there
I'm a republican. Do you still want to be my friend? :sad2:

I am terrible with politics. That's one thing I really admire about you United Statesians, you have such pride in your country. It's sad how many Canadians don't know who their the prime minister or premier is. But we all know who the american president is.

My bf's mom owns a restaraunt and every weekend there are various parties there (weddings, birthdays, etc.). Well she told us that about 2 weeks ago one lady held a wedding reception there for her 15 or 16 year old daughter!! She then said that the mom went up to her and said: "I want you go serve champagne to all of them!" All the kids there were underage! My bf's mom told the servers to all give them sparkling cider instead. Every few months she gets parties for some very young couple. I think this was the 3rd one she's had. Very scary! I told her that the girls must be pregnant. She said that all the couples parents said that they would be moving in with the parents. :sad2:
