Passed by Disney Store and there were these group of teen girls (looked about 16 or 17 years old) who were arguing loudly. Apparently they all want to be Hannah Montana for halloween and they were fighting over who gets to be her and they were buying her jeans and shirt from the store. :rotfl2:
I don't get it. I see lots of teenagers out trick or treating now, and it just WASN'T DONE when I was a kid. I remember when I was 11 some snotty woman said "Don't you think you're a little OLD for this?" I was horrified, and never went trick or treating again. :sad1:

What a mean old hag she must have been! I see tons of teenagers every year. Sometimes my bf and I will go to my parents house and I help give out candy. One teenage boy showed up in nothing but his underwear and a towel as a cape. My mom opened the door and was startled! Then she asked him: "Aren't you cold??" and he's all: "Yeah!!" and he was shaking a bit. He said he dressed that way for his girlfriend, who was dressed really really hoochie in a cheerleading outfit with her skirt hiked up (you could see her underwear). She was also eating a lollipop and had tons of makeup on. :scared1: The scary part is that they both looked 13 or 14!

I love taking the kids out!!!

I guess ever since that horrid old woman, I never really got into Halloween. We didn't even take DS7 trick or treating until he was 4. It was hysterical! We went house to house in his costume, and every time he knocked on the door, the people would give him candy! After the 3rd house, he said, "Mama, I love Halloween! We should do this every day!" :lmao:

I had to explain that people don't give out candy EVERY day, only one night a year. :rotfl2:

So DS3 started trick or treating with his brother when we moved to this neighborhood. He was only a year old, and went to a handful of houses before he wanted to go back home to Daddy. But all kinds of people keep trying to give me candy, too! "Here, Mom, you need some, too!" Oy, as if I don't eat enough of the kids! :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: We always took Alex up to my parents house for trick or treating... He was terrified of the Jack-O-Lanterns.:lmao: I think he was 3 before he worked up the nerve to actually go to peoples house!

YEESH! :scared1:

When I was at Party City I looked at costumes, just in case there was something really cute (and cheap!) for DS3. I was stunned that even the costumes for little girls DS7's age were kinda hoochie! No way would I let someone that age wear that stuff!

Party City close to Halloween time is AWFUL!! I remember one year they had all the customers stand in the middle of the store waiting for the longest time. They would have someone in the back with microphones looking for costumes. I waited forever and they sold out. I think I wanted the Ringwraith costume from Lord of the Rings, but they were out since it was discounted.

I agree with you on the hoochie stuff for little girls. There is a store in the mall called Pop Star and they have skanky outfits. I never see customers in there so I doubt they are going to last very long.

DS7 has the hang of it now, of course, but he was so shy that first time. I'd have to keep reminding him, "What do you say?" "Trick or treat," he'd almost whisper. Then they'd give him candy and I'd have to say, "What do you say?" and he'd say thank you.

DS3, on the other hand, goes CHARGING up to the front door, always wants to ring the bell (uff da!) I also had to coach him on what to say last year (I guess he was only 2yo) but he gets sooo excited! Jumps up and down on the porch, just beaming at the folks. :rotfl:

We go with neighbor friends who have two little girls exactly the same age as the boys, and the mom's parents usually come along, too.

DH just talked to his step-grandma today, and she wants to come visit at the end of the month. She wants to watch DS7 play in a soccer game, and stay to trick or treat with the boys! (That's a weeklong visit!)

Oh, wow, I was just watching Without A Trace. I went to the bathroom during a critical moment, where apparently it was explained where a missing child was, and why he was kidnapped. I was sure he was going to be found dead, but he was OK, and I started bawling like a baby! He was only 4yo, and so adorable, so sweet and trusting, just like they are at this age.

See above post... Jinx again!:lmao:
