All right.. I give up.

Tried twice to catch the bus, and missed it both times. Do they NOT follow their own freakin schedule??????!!!
That second bus wasn't suppose to come for another 20 minutes.

Called the emergency room, got handed off to three differnet people:

ME: yeah, I'm checking on my husband's conditon, (name)
ER operator staff: please hold...
another staff:may I help you?
ME:uhhh, yeah, I'm checking on my husband (gave name)
staff: Ill transfer you to the nurses desk... please hold..
Nurse: may I help you?
ME: (very confused at this point) My husband (name) was sent by ambulance this morning, I'm checking on his condition.
Nurse: oh... let me get his nurse..
ME: (thinking WTH???????)
Husband's male nurse: may I help you

ME: (getting peeved) yeah, I'm calling about my husband's condition
DH nurse: well, he can't come to the phone right now.
ME: Is he being admitted? I know HIPPA laws won't let you tell me much but I am his wife ( and was about to add that I'm on his advanced health directive)
Nurse: what's your understanding about what happened this morning?
ME: (confused but ok, I'll play along) well, he had 3 seizures this morning. Is he being admitted?
Nurse: (finally reels off the info I wanted)... had another seizure, gave him meds for that, alert and oriented and waiting for a CAT scan. Won't know about admission until he is further evaluated. He'll be here at least another hour or two.

ME: ok. (taking it all in)
Nurse: can he call you at home?
------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, the nurse seeemed kinda snippy to me. All business and no comfort.

I was going to ask about a courtesy shuttle (I know hubby used one to get back home last time). But the nurse was so brusque that I gave up.

Anyway, had my mini melt down on the walk back to apartment from the failed bus attempt.

If they do admit him then I'm taking a taxi (unless the hospital can get me a ride).

As for riding in the rig.. They had several staff, don't think there was room for a ride along.

ok, I'm going to hide next time ms Pixie comes around:scared:

 My brother has epilepsy so I know seeing a seizure happen to someone you love is one of the worst things to see so my hugs to you.

Does your hubby have diabetes?

You were you not able to ride in the ambulence with them on the way to the hospital?

He doesn't have diabetes, seizures are a new thing for him. He had one a month ago, but he checked out of hospital AMA before they could figure out what was wrong.

He's very stubborn!!:sad2:

I love the bookmark with the carriage. Were they easy to make?

I was wondering if the carriage on above the castle is the rub off decal type.. it looks like it's floating on the surface.

Love the colors too.

You're good! I couldn't fix it so I just took it out...I guess you are too quick for me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Holy (bad word), Bern! :scared1:
I got chills just reading it! (And said a few choice words here and there.) I'm sooo sorry, what a crappy way to start the day.

I do hope he's OK, but how the heck are YOU???

I'm sitting here getting checks ready for the carriers (I work for a newspaper) and some of these carriers make over $1100 every two weeks. And they only work 3-4 hours per night! But they do have to work 7 days a week rain or shine.

Nice:thumbsup2
I had a mom (when I taught preschool) that did a carrier job to make ends meet. She was also a dental hygienist but it was a tough market to find full time work, she made enough to live on for her family of four as a carrier.

But only just enough.
