Unruly Park Guests & kicking them out ; Your thoughts please...

I was at Disney on my honeymoon and it happened to be FL jr high day. We were in line at Space Mt and right before we went in a bunch of kids jumped into line ahead of us. We complained to the CM and the kids said one kid was holding thier place. The CM said there was nothing wrong with that but here in IL it is called linejumping and not allowed. We left and went to Epcot that day.

This is a terrific idea. Disney needs to contact Dolly. Maybe a little security upfront would encourage guests to be on their best behavior. The worst I have encountered so far was a little boy pushing and stepping on my DD's foot as we waited in the entrance to the Little Mermaid. I pointed his behavior out to him and his family by asking him to stop doing that. His mother reluctantly made him apologize. What kind of kids are we raising?

Years ago we were at DTD and a guy was walking around in a shirt that said **** you in huge bold type letters. I walked over to a CM at one of the refreshmant carts and quietly pointed it out. She then called someone and a few minutes later these two larger security type men approached him, around 20 minutes later we saw the same guy wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt. lol.

Not sure if anyone here saw it, but there was a blip in the newspaper a few weeks ago (my DH pointed it out to me as I avoid the paper at all costs!) about a couple who was kicked off a flight because he (or maybe both of them) was wearing a shirt with a picture of a woman exposing one of her breasts. I guess they gave him the option of changing or turning the shirt inside out, but he raised a fuss and was ejected from the flight. If I remember correctly this was a flight coming to the US from South America, but I could be wrong. Can't remember if the couple was from the US, but I think so. Sorry to be so vague, but my point is, if the airlines can do it, why can't DISNEY?...................P

Oh Sheri, your going to get me all riled up on this topic today....I
could write a disertation on this..but I will attempt to refrain from
doing so.

First off, I am a former CM and during my time at WDW I was punched in
the face (knocked out cold) 1 time, Pushed on the ground at Pooh
FastPass Merge and spit on by the same guest and spit on several other
times and verbally abused countless times. The two who acctually
attacked me, they were removed from the premises and told not to
return...BOLO's were issued throughout the park on the two of them.

And I know WDW used to enforce dress codes on people wearing obscene
clothing. I have seen managers ask guests to turn their shirt inside
out
or they can purchase a WDW shirt at a discounted price. Or they could
leave. It's a shame they don't enforce that as much anymore....same
goes
with women in bikini tops/guys with no shirts on.

I for one get very frustrated with people swearing and making scenes,
in
my opinion pulling other guests out of the magic they paid good money
for. I often have to hold back to keep from intervening and asking
people to do the right thing.

Heck there was a time when Walt wouldn't let men with long hair and
"hippie" type people come into Disneyland...is it so much to ask for
WDW
to step up and preserve the magic once again...IMHO it wont happen with
the current company board in place..it's all about the almighty dollar,
no longer the guest experience.

Argh...got to stop there, otherwise I'll write that book Can you

We are going for the first time and I am a little nervous after reading about such poor behavior! Should we expect a lot of this?

We have been about 4 times in two years and have never experienced anything other than maybe some kids line jumping -- or at least TRYING to line jump. If I see 'em; I call 'em on it. If I can stand in line w/ my 3 kids (one of whom hates waiting in line and I have to literally hold him there--the 3yo) then they can wait too! Ocassionally you'll get the stressed out DH and DW arguing over what to do next but I think they are the park commandos (we were like that our first trip) but now we go so often that we hit it leisurely.

That's too funny! I'm with you on every point, EmereldaX (and thanks for the exception of spitting siblings. I loathe the fact that my children have been known to do this, but it happens... )

Well, maybe the answer is to make sure a CM is notified of what is going on at that time.
Easier said than done of course.

Around 4 - 5 months ago DH witnessed what he was sure was a drug buy in the MK restroom (the men's restroom by the fire station).
The one with the drugs was carrying a black leather duffle bag. (Which tells you how closely security looks in bags coming into the park.

DH kept an eye on them and came to me. We were hoping to see security, or even a CM to report it. And that happened to be the time none were in sight. We stood in front of the Emporium.

We watched the two leave the park. All the time they were watching him watching them. It was like they were hesitant to leave and acting like they were going to come back in as soon as our backs were turned.

We stayed for awhile.

Never a cop when ya need one. Looking back, had I known we would have stood for awhile watching, he could have stayed and I could have gone into City Hall.
We thought they would just leave. But it was obvious they were waiting for us to leave and re-enter.


I personally would be happy if Disney just enforced the No Smoking policy!

A few years ago, DH had to get a WDW guest off my cousin who is a CM there. My cousin was following Disney guidelines that didn't suit a particular guest. He went ballistic and had my poor cousin in a headlock. DH didn't take kindly to that and intervened as my poor cousin was getting the tar beat out of him! Took a surprising length of time for security to arrive. The crazed guest and his family were allowed to continue enjoying the "magic!"

NOOOOO! These are just examples of the worst of the worst. It's likely that you may see or hear a few things that are bad (happens everywhere) but keep in mind that reading a whole thread on the bad, will skew the way it seems. 99% of the folks you will run into will be AWESOME!!!

I'm glad they kicked those guys out. And more importantly that you are okay. Wow. I honestly do not think I could work at WDW because I would not be able to hold my tongue. I'd snap at these people. The patience you & others CMs have is amazing.

I'm so glad Disney took action on these two.

The swearing bugs me too. It just comes across as so classless to do in front of families with little kids at Disneyworld.

I think the swearing bothers me the most...especially with other little kids around....I've heard 4 year olds swearing at WDW (Im not kidding when I say a 4 year old girl told me to F*** off when I told her she was to short to ride Splash and her dad just said..yeah, f*** you buddy.)

I hate the big groups of teenage punks that think they own the world too...they run around without a care in the world about the others around them, and there mouths...heck, they embarass me...I'm no prude, but come on boys, thats just ....

sigh...alas, despite the negative, the positive of being a CM was so much better than not....I miss it...wish I could go back.

No way! You mean if you wear an obscene t-shirt to WDW you get a discount to buy a new one? They should be doubling the price!

Although..... thinking that might work to get cheaper souvenirs for her next trip.....

As far as the other stuff. . seems to me that Disney will still take care of the serious stuff if notified, but the rude behavior, bad language, and minor outbursts they avoid doing anything about.

I'd guess this has more to do with the majority of those kinds of things being 'he said, she said' type deals that would be hard to prove if challenged later in court.


And while I can't say for sure, sounds like some of the incidents mentioned from the other thread might be a bit "dramatized" for increased entertainment value. . it could be true, but I really doubt a man taking "Mr. Happy" out for a morning walk at a Disney breakfast venue would be allowed to just go on his merry way. . .

Okay, there's a "turning it inside/out" joke here somewhere but I'm tired and I'll just get my self in trouble.. LOL!!

The parent who's daughter was being harrassed by the crazed fake cm was much nicer than I would have been.

Honestly I'm as nice as Cinderella, Belle and Jasmine rolled up into one, but heaven forbid someone touch my child or scream at my child like this woman did. No offense mods, but I would of opened up a serious can of Whoop **** on that woman.

Dh and I don't abuse them and I be darned if anyone else will.

I don't have kids, but you can best believe if I ever did, or if I was with my neices and someone touched them I would do the same Pongo.

Josh - that is sad, about the 4 yo's swearing like that. They must
pick it up somewhere. It's just sad.
