Unreasonable expectations?

We did a 50 point add-on June 16. Our guide was on vacation, so another guide handled the transaction for me. Our guide was returning on June 17, and the guide covering for him said he would let him know about the add-on.

Well, we have now closed on the add-on and not a peep from our guide. Am I being unreasonable to think a phone call would have been nice? Maybe a quick voice mail thanking us for our business? Some sort of acknowledgement of my additional investment would have been considerate. A call or a note in the mail to follow up and make sure everything is OK? :confused3 Or maybe I should just be so HONORED to have another 50 points that I shouldn't expect a thank you from our guide?

People have different expectations. Personally, I'd rather not be bothered by a follow up call from a salesguy for a commodity purchase. (Its another thing for the landscaper to call and make sure my flowers bloomed the next year). He can look at your file, see that you closed in a reasonable amount of time, and pretty much assume everything followed the process. Since he can't make both you and me happy, you have a guide more in the "compatible with me" than "compatible with you" school.

Maybe. I know it doesn't take me more than 2 full weeks to catch up from my vacations, but I guess that could be the case.

I know, but they are going through special sales for BLT and AKV. SSR and VGC. I hope you do get some sort of acknowledgement from your guide. Since you added on, it's assumed you're a happy owner, and it would be nice to keep you as such!

I would be fine with a post card thanking me for adding on and reminding me that the guide is happy to help with any future purchases. It doesn't have to be personal or sincere, I just want to be thanked! :rotfl2:

Sometimes guides read these boards. I know something I said once got back to Michelle and she asked me about it.

I hope you get a Thank You and I hope it is personal and sincere!pixiedust:Don't lower your expectations!

I added 50 pts at BLT at the DVC Boston production on June 20. I'm not even sure my regular guide knows about it. But, that is most likely a whole different scenario.

Did the fill in guide say thank you? If so, that would be enough for me. I wouldn't expect my guide to go out of their way to thank me for a transaction that had already been completed. But that's just me - other might/do feel different

On our last 35 point add-on, years ago, our regular guide was out of the office and it was our last morning at WDW. We were staying at OKW, and the sales center was still located there at Commodore House, so we walked-in without an appointment.

Another guide handled the paperwork, and when the paperwork was processed they switched us to the guide that handled the add-on as our permanent guide. So it is quite possible your original guide either doesn't know about the add-on, or simply saw that you've been switched to a different guide.

If we add-on again at some point in the future, I will request to be changed back to our original guide...but until then, since guides really only handle sales, I didn't see much point in requesting to be changed back unless we were going to purchase something.

I ended up calling Quality Assurance a couple of days after I spoke to the other guide because I needed to clarify a couple of things. The lady I spoke to told me my guide and the other guide are good friends and always cover vacations for each other. I just assumed the communication between the 2 guides would be good and our guide would have phoned to follow up.

Eh, maybe not. :confused3

I guess I should be happy our add-on went so quickly and get on with my life, huh? :rotfl:
