I love the idea of a "phantom poop" coming back into the room, larger than ever. What a scary tale! I also cracked up at the post suggesting it was MOUSE POOP! For OP, glad it all worked out. It is creepy to think someone was in your room!

Both my dad and i, managing rental property, have had to become instant plumbers. I got the information from a variety of textbooks and sources including Boston's TV series This Old House. Also I have observed at home what the OP described, sometimes complete with the toilet paper making it "over the hill" and the feces falling back.

When I was little I had at least one nightmare about being flushed down the toilet. When I visit water parks and go down the slides, that dream comes back into my mind.
