Unpleasant surprise at ASM

Wow! too weird.
I am so glad you told the front desk and that they were able to put you in the Calypso building. That is my Favorite building at All Star Music. I love that resort. When I stay there I feel like i am right in the middle of the magic. The rooms are so quiet. I would much rater stay there than a deluxe with the nosiy inside halls.
Glad you enjoyed your time at All Star Music with exception to that "weird experience."

This reminds me of people that get to their new room and find that someone is occupying that room. Maybe this happened and someone in the family had to go and and they did.

Really rude.

Not to sound nasty........wait this will be nasty BUT ...

Did the said "item" maybe float back up into the toilet after it was flushed somehow?

One way or another I cant TOTALLY understand being freaked out and the precautions you took were totally fine. It's great that the cast member made you feel better and accomodate you! Plus, it's great they offered to upgrade you without you ever asking for such a great thing.

Hope you have better luck on your next trips!

KC=CT, I am glad you kept your rose colored glasses. I cannot believe that there could be an "innocent" explanation. What's worse is, if this person did flush, you wouldn't have known someone was in your room.

A lesson for all of us - don't keep anything in room. Glad your trip was good even though you had an unfortunate incident.
So true.. I had never thought of that one.... yuk!

Yes, they can see who accesses your room through the Ving system, so they can tell exactly who was in the room.

I agree that it was a vile and disgusting thing to happen to you, but I would be far more creeped out than disgusted. I would feel so violated!

I completely agree with your decision to move rooms. I would not feel safe in the same room for the rest of the trip.

Hi Tracy, what exactly is the Ving system? I've never heard of it! TIA.

That would totally freak my husband out. He would be so mad. The NFL doesn't call us Buffalo New York the rowdiest crowds ever for nothing.

That's definitely weird. And gross.

Sounds like Disney handled it well, though. I'm glad that they made it up to you with the preferred room. :)

Not to dissent but I agree. Sometimes the most obvious answer is THE answer. I have also experienced kids who thought they flushed and didn't.

pkdcoastrs - No there is no chance that it floated back up or that my daughter forgot to flush as suggested by k5thbeatle. I'm not saying that she's never forgotten to flush and I don't want to be gross, but the "souvenir" was too big. It was definately not left by a child.

Hucifer, that is exactly how I felt...violated. Years ago someone broke into our house. It turned out to be kids and they were only stealing snack foods, but just to know that they had been in my house when I wasn't home and might have been going through my personal belongings really upset me. I had exactly the same feeling about this incident.

Yuk! :( I am glad to hear the rest of your vacation went well. Someone broke into my apt. when I was in college and you feel so violated. We did find out many months later that it was my roommates ex-boyfriend but the feeling doesn't just go away!

I am bothered by what happened but what bothers me more is that there was no mention of toilet paper so the offended not only left a "gift" but did not wipe! Ewww.

Without reading the entire thread (maybe someone already suggested this), do you think it could have been Mickey himself?

They can tell each time the lock in your door was used. When our room was robbed last February, they were able to tell which workers used their pass to get in, and when we went in and out..or so they told us when they reimbursed us our losses.

Yes, definitely possible.

The outlet pipe of a toilet has ups and downs like Typhoon Lagoon's Crush'nGusher. The flush process relies on siphon action, that pulls the bowl contents up and over and that requires at least for a moment that the entire outlet pipe from the bowl and around down to floor level be completely filled with water. Once in awhile, particularly with modern 1.3 gallon low-flow toilets, solid matter fails to make it over the hill. A few minutes or hours later it drifts back down into the toilet bowl. Also it is not ususual for feces (Bowel Movement) to be expanded somewhat and/or come to the surface after a few hours since bacteria inside may give off microscopic gas bubbles..

That said, entrance into the room by unauthorized persons or pranksters cannot be ruled out although pranksters' doing "that" seems quite far fetched.

Yuck! I'm glad that they were able to move you, and it kind of turned out for the best! Hopefully they were able to tell if someone had gotten into your room, or if it was just a plumbing malfunction. It seems like if housekeeping or maintenance was going to take a potty break in a room, they would at least have the sense to use a vacant one!
