UnOfficial March 2012 Trip Planners Tread-DIS Meet 3/8 Info Pg 1

The crowd level that I am talking about is not xmas or food and wine level, but it is like busy in the the middle of the summer type level.

You are definitely going to need to get there early if you plan on hitting everything. Add this to the increased crowds due to free dining, I think we are in for it around march. But then again, it is 40 square miles of parks and resorts. Plenty of room for everyone!

To those of us here who have been obsessing about the crowd levels during our tips, if this DIS poll is any indication, those of us who will be there before the "official" start of Spring Break (3/9) the crowd level is lookin' good I think:goodvibes

I forgot all about that poll. On top of that if you run a search on resort availability from 3/3-3/8 I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

We are staying at the pop century from 2/28 - 3/10:cool1:

:welcome:

I was playing around on the site yesterday and did notice it was just when I put in my dates of 3/4 to 3/9 the mods and values were full but if I tried 3/4 to 3/8 there was lots of availability so it is basically from the 8th on that things was booked up.

Good News for all of us who are there early in the month :cool1:

Does anyone know if the March park hours will be extended? If so, will they be released soon? Can't wait! :upsidedow

Our Mickey Mail came! Our Mickey Mail came! That can make any bad day immediately turn into a good day! :goodvibes

That is awesome...but we aren't booked for any of those restaurants. :sad1:

I've heard some of the other restaurants got new menus as well within the past month or so. (I think I read it on some TRs -- new kid menus.)

I really hope that every restaurant gets better kids menu options. I was so tired feeding my boys nuggets and mac&cheese the whole trip!

Yea, I can understand why having chicken nuggets and mac & cheese on the menu is good for children who like eating this over and over again. But I never understood why they didn't server smaller portions of some of the adult food for kids who have bigger appitites and broader taste pallets. Luckily there was to much food on my plate durning our trip last year, because since my DS has CF he needs more food than the normal 9 year old could eat. Disney's idea was to upgrade him to an adult, making everything more expensive and voiding the special I was getting on Kids stay and play for free promo.

I do agree that it's a good thing about the kids meals menu changes but I have to wonder for people not on the DP what the new meals may cost. They just look like they might come with a higher price tag if paying OOP. Also makes me wonder what they took of the old menus that people relied on.:confused3

I went shopping to day and found two l/s shirts for layering and bought new undies for the trip. I have new clothes I bought when I was going in October originally so I think I am all set. Almost time to start packing :yay:

I agree. My DS was fine with living off nuggets and mac. My DD got tired of it QUICK. (She can't have mac 'n cheese, so it was nuggets all the time for her.) She was tickled pink at the few places that served salmon on the kids menu. She'll be 10 on our trip this year, so she doesn't have to stress over the lame kid options. However, I do worry about DS. I guess we'll see! :goodvibes

Right, its not that I don't think they should offer the kid basics, but to have pretty much only those options at every single meal got really old after 10 days.

I'm glad to see there will be some new kids options. DD is not what I would consider an adventurous eater, and she does actually love mac-n-cheese, but even she gets a little tired of it. We don't usually do the dining plan though, so she does have the option sometimes to order off the adult menu, but often that's too much food for her.

My envelope came today too, woo hoo! We've never used DME before (we usually drive down) so the DME tags are exciting! Just over a month away...

We are doing regular FD through our APs, and I noticed in the paperwork that we get mugs with our plan. Is that something new that they are doing? I thought you got them with the quick service plan, but I didn't realize that they came with the regular plan.

Yep for 2012 the regular DP now gets mugs

I saw it is being reported that the refurb on the Magic Carpet Ride has been cancelled due to the Dumbo Ride re-opening being delayed.
