I was shocked when I saw the cooler because I know the rule. It was pretty ridiculous and I'd wondered how they got it in.

If you have a depo transcript, PDF court filing or trial transcript, please feel free to post it here to back up your assertion that Disney is OK with illegal guides.

I think that would put a pretty good end to this debate.

They got it in by walking thru security an the gate. Apperantly the cm did not have a problem with it. Could you post something showing that disney is against tour guides. Then I will apologize for backing them up.

I'm basing my conclusion on this comment from the Mouse Planet article:

"Her case went to trial last year. During the proceedings, Disney management testified that they had no problem with her actual business and her providing private tours of the park. Their problem—and what violated the terms of her AP—was the cast member photo on her business card (implying she was a Disneyland employee or that her business was affiliated with or endorsed by Disneyland), the Mickey and castle images on her card (violating the company's trademarks), and her possession of the pilfered special-acces passes."

As for your continual assertion of the term "illegal guides", you have no basis to make such a claim. When you make a claim that something is "illegal" or somehow against the rules, the onus is on you to prove such a law or rule actually exists in order to back up your claim. It is not the responsibility of others to disprove a baseless claim.

I can't speak for the ones in this post mentioned, but the guide we used was nothing like what was on the today show. As I mentioned in our post our guide was very well known in the park and got us very nice perks. At no time did he use a GAC or unethical method. He is in the park almost everyday on tours and the people in the parks know and like him. If this was not the case we wouldn't have been allowed early entrance into the park, greeted by a photographer who knew our guide and was waiting as well. You could tell the CM's really liked him as they were joking and talking with him. That is nothing at all like what the Today show uncovered.

In the terms and conditions of the Annual Pass, it does specifically say "Passports may not be used for commercial purposes and are void if altered or misused." It goes on to say passes may be revoked at Disney's discretion.

So, basically, other CMs in the park were affording him perks that he had not paid for, and they were helping promote his business on their employer's time, at their employer's place of business, and in competition with their employer's business.
