I have a few I am going to cancel. Just curious. Can someone else use your ADR? If they could, is it ok to offer them here on these boards?

You can't really pass on reservations to someone else, but... what a lot of people do is post the information about what they're going to cancel, and when, (example ONLY, I don't HAVE these reservations to cancel! :teeth: ) "At 5 PM Eastern time today, I'm cancelling
Le Cellier 4 people 6:30 July 16
Crystal Palace 3 people 9 AM July 17
50s Prime Time 4 people 2:45 July 18...."

It has been done here many times (and in fact, I expect to start seeing whole threads devoted to that very soon, with free dining looming in the near future)! Yes, according to WDW's official statement, ADRs are non-transferable. However, I don't see why someone here on the boards shouldn't have first chance at getting someone else's unwanted ADRs (after all, we are kind of a community here, no?) I have in the past given away ADRs I didn't need, and also gotten ADRs I desperately wanted from some kind DISer who had a change of plans.

While many people do what the above poster mentions, that is usually not successful for the really popular restaurants/dates. Even if both people have their clocks set to precisely the same second, and get through to a CM at precisely the same second, there are so many phone lines devoted to making dining ressies that chances are someone else will grab up that ADR before the DISer gets it. Better, IMO, is to post what restaurants, date, times, and party size and invite anyone interested to PM you. Then, what I have done in the past is just PM the person who needs the ADR with: the date and exact time, the confirmation #, and the last name. Of course, you can't do this with any CC held ADR. Others have mentioned doing a three way call, getting a CM on the phone and stating that you are transferring the ADR to your friend, sister, whoever, and having that person give their information. Even though it is officially not allowed, the CMS do it, so why can't we? ;)
