Hi,

on our next trip we will be doing Star Tours later on in the day, but we have the choice of doing Body Wars. Is it necesary to do both?

Is the Attraction at Universe of Energy worth doing? I can only remeber the dinosaur bit. How long is the dinosaur part of the attraction?

thanks:)

Hi! You'll likely get a bunch of different opinions here, but here's my 2 cents....

I've been on both Body Wars and Star Tours and I enjoy Star Tours more. I don't have bad motion sickness, but I do feel a bit nauseas on Body Wars but not Star Tours.

As for Universe of Energy, the whole ride is about 40 minutes. The dinosaur part is about 5-10min. I personally like Ellen's humour, so I really enjoy the ride. However, if you don't like Ellen or if your children don't like to sit still for long, I suggest you skip this one.

HTH! Have fun!

We don't do Body Wars or Star Tours because of motion sickness. Body Wars is a definite not do for me because no way do I want to combine movement and looking at the inside of a body!!!!
But, Universe of Energy is a must do for our family. It takes approximatly 45 minutes to do and see the whole attraction. This is a good attraction for a rest. We call it a "Napper" because usually someone in the family falls asleep during it. Have fun, Beth

We don't know who Ellen is.

Is she on TV over there?

We havn't heard of her!!:p :p

Body Wars is the ONLY motion ride I've ever gotten queasy on - and I've been on a lot of motion rides! I would recommend doing it at sometime that won't ruin your day if you feel sick later...and I'm not sure what time of day that would be! I did recover after an hour or so.

The Universe of Energy is worth seeing, but I wouldn't put too much effort into fitting Body Wars into your plans - not only does it tend to cause motion sickness more than any other ride at WDW, but the acting is quite poor and the special effects are outdated.

I think the storyline of Body Wars is cute so I like to go on it, but it does make many people sick who tend to get motion sickness. It doesn't effect me too bad, I just wouldn't go on another motion simulator right after it.

If you don't know Ellen or Bill Nye the Science Guy, I'm not sure if you'll want to do the Energy ride. It does take a long time, as others have mentioned, so do it if you have time. It is a nice rest too, as you get to sit down for a long time. We don't do it every trip, but it's worth seeing.

Ok, here's a different take:

Body Wars: I think it's a great theme and great special effects. And I seldom disagree with WDWGuide. However, I think hand's down it's the most stomach-turning attraction in Disney. Haven't tried Mission: Space yet, though. We avoid it because I just can't afford the two hours it takes me to equalize.

Universe of Energy: An ok attraction, an ok theme. The "moving theater" is pretty neat, but the thrill wears off after a trip or two. But we ride it every time. I've slept through it three times. Where else are you going to get a 45 minute break, lot's of A/C, and darkness, without lugging everyone back to the hotel?

Pat

If you'er doing Star Tours that day, I wouldn't make Body Wars a priority. It's OK, but Star Wars is much better. I'd skip it.

As far as Universe of Energy, it's one of my most-skippable attractions at WDW. I don't especially care for Ellen's comedy or the the whole premise is fairly hokey. The moving theater effects are good, but similar effects are used the Great Movie Ride at MGM (which is a much better ride) and the Dinosaur animatronics just can't compare with the ones at AK. Also, it's pretty long (40-45 minutes or so) and not recogmended if you're on a tight schedule. My sugestion would probably be at least see the preshow, especially if you're not familiar with Ellen. If you enjoyed the preshow, you'll enjoy the ride. If not, you can just bail out.

Body Wars-
Totally skippable. Star Tours is MUCH better!

Universe of Energy-I like this attraction. Esp. on a hot day when you need a break. Since it is so long, you get a nice chance to cool off and rest your feet. My kids (7 and 5) really enjoy the whole ride :)

I think every attraction at WDW is worth seeing at least once. If you've never done them, you probably should check them out if you have time. Everyone is different - you might really enjoy them. For me, I skip Body Wars. I felt really sick all day after the first time I went on it so it's obviously not worth it.

Universe of Energy isn't such a bad attraction, it's just quite long. If it's hot and humid and you're tired of walking, it's a great place to relax. :D

Body Wars makes me a bit quesy, but I shut my eyes if the effect gets to be too much. Works for me and it is a cute ride.

I LOVE the Universe of Energy. It has always been one of my favorite attractions. I enjoy Ellen's dry humor and when the theatre breaks up and heads off into the jungle I know I can only be at Disney.

Also, if you want to "hear" Ellen, just go to Nemo. She is the voice for Dory, the fish with no short-term memory. One of the best characters in this new movie!

i do not like body wars just for the afore mention reason--motion sickness. therefore, if there are those in our group who want to do that, i shop! as far as universe of energy, i like it. my husband **does**use the ride as rest time! :p
