I am hating this virtual queue thing. At 3:00 it shows VQ is available. I click on it and get “sorry their are no VQ times available for your party size”. I go back and see that it still says VQ available. I click again and still get sorry message. I’m a party of one!

ETA: Same thing happened at 6:00. No HP for me this trip.

Can anyone tell me if there is transportation from IOA to Epic during the preview days? We're going on the 13th and will be at IOA until about 1:30. I can't find anything definitive that says buses are running now.

Yes there's a bus that will take you to Epic from city walk and vice versa

Honest question and not judging by any means. But why waste over a half day in IoA when spending money on a ticket at epic? If you left IoA at 130 you're most likely not getting through the gates at epic til after 230 and they close at 9

Just as a follow up from my previous post, went back and seems like more people are posting about the extra VQ spot situation and it’s gotten to the point where mods have started scrubbing threads. In this case someone had *eight* spots, no mention that they had extras, and yet this happened. 😳 They really need to figure this out.

What do you all think of Stardust Racers? My relatives said it's not as intense as Velocicoaster, but I think they're lying to get me to ride it. I'm so tempted.
I didn't find it as intense, however it is definitely faster which pushes you back into your seat more, and some people may interpret that as being more intense. Velocicoaster is still, by far, my favorite coaster. My problem with Stardust Racers is with the extra speed and change in directions, I felt like the lap bar kept jamming me in the abdomen to the point where it hurt. Like riding in a car with a seatbelt and your constantly going at high speed, and then breaking hard and the belt jams into your stomach to keep you from flying out. IMO, it was uncomfortable.

I'll add that I've seen multiple reports now that one of the reasons HP is so unreliable is that they have sensors near everyone's feet for some reason and if the sensors aren't triggered by occupants then the ride stops. It's bad enough that they've apparently had to warn people against crossing their legs. I'm sure they meant well with this (probably to detect if someone is out of their seat?), but it's causing problems.

Anyway, if you manage to get in, feet straight down!
Oh, interesting! We were wondering what the issue was. I know Tiana's Bayou Adventure had sensor related problems, and I was wondering if that was becoming more of an industry problem. We were instructed upon boarding to not cross your legs and I thought that was an unusual instruction.

About time the mods are cracking down on those posts. Getting tiresome seeing 10 posts made every day begging for spots and willing to pay
. There was one guy the other day willing to pay $200 for a spot

But also yes.. Uo needs to do something if they're gonna keep the VQ after offical opening

Judge away! I realize it's crazy, lol. This trip (mostly Disney with one day at Universal) was a fluke. I was supposed to be in Spain with my husband but he's too busy, so I asked my daughter if she could get time off, and we decided to go to WDW. We did Disney many times when kids were little, and Universal once. Never planned on going back, and it's highly doubtful we'll go back again (maybe if we have grandkids?) I already had Park to Park tix to USF/IOA with EP for a day, then Epic tix became available so I jumped on it without even thinking about it! Hoping 6 hours will be enough to walk around and get a few rides in. The only ones I'm interested in are Curse of the Werewolf, Mine Cart, Wing Glider, Monsters Unchained and HP (I realize this one likely won't happen).

Speaking as someone who normally doesn't enter a park until later in the day, but was at Epic from 11am to 9pm during a preview day, I think you’ll be fine! I didn't intend to get to Epic until 1ish, but my hotel room wasn’t ready and I knew I’d need lunch, so I just went to Epic earlier than planned. I really didn't do much from 11a to 2p: strolled a couple lands, ate a long, leisurely lunch, and saw Cirque Arcanus. Everything else I experienced from 2p-ish to closing: Yoshi, Werewolf, Monsters, Wing Gliders, Mario Kart, a long dinner, casting spells, and lots of looking around. Had I gotten into the VQ for HP, I’d have had time for it. I opted not to do them, but wait times were low enough that I could have done Stardust and the Carousel multiple times, too. My advice is just keep an eye on wait times and bounce when they drop dramatically, especially toward evening.

Could it be that people are canceling their VQs or modifying them?
I don't think so...Ear Scouts did a video on this. In his video he mentioned it actually opened up before the window was supposed to. There are a lot of flaws with the current system for VQ's. I'd argue theres been a good bit of flaws with the entire roll out of this park, but thats a topic for another day.

With that said, I'm pumped for how awesome this park looks, and the theming of all of the lands. I also can't get upset with them, like others are regarding the Virtual Queue issues. They opened the park over a full month early. Most people with trips planned right now, weren't even supposed to get into Epic, and now they at least have that opportunity. Yes, they are paying to enter, and you want things to go smoothly, but the reality is, these are bonus days for people getting into this park.

I'm optimistic the virtual queue will go away when the official opening date hits, but I also worry (due to the technical issues this ride continues to have), that they may need to keep it in place and roll it out each day in segents based on how the ride is running to avoid people waiting 3-4 hours to ride and never actually getting a chance to, while missing the rest of the park. Heck, this is already happening even with the current virtual queue setup (Dave from Fresh Baked waited 3.5 hours to ride even with the virtual queue).

I think as the tech gets more intricate, more problems are occurring as well on top of the sensor issues. I read an article the other day of someone who has ridden Monsters Unchained a handful of times, and they said the ride is outstanding, but they've yet to ride it, with all of the animatronics working properly. Reminds me a lot of the Rise of Resistance issues.

I had so much fun on this ride.
It's great that Epic has different coasters for everyone. I love Donkey Kong while some of my relatives though it was too rough for their joints. On the other hand, I couldn't wait to get off Werewolf while they thought it was a blast riding sideways. Our kids didn't go on this trip due to school, but I know they will love Hiccups and Stardust.

I can’t do the big coasters but I can ride Big Thunder. Would you say this is about the same intensity of BTM?
I love this question.

I am a ride chicken. Best I can do: Big Thunder, 7 Dwarves, GOTG, ToT, Mummy, Gringotts. (I leave the big baddies to hubby: RnRC, Velocicoaster, TRON, Hulk etc.)

If anyone wants to share opinions: I would love to know which rides I could handle (without watching spoiler footage.)

I know I need to skip stardust racers from earlier in this thread lol.

Anyone who can handle BTM should be fine on Wing Gliders, which feels a little faster to me, but much more smooth. Werewolf I also found to be very smooth - just so SHORT in duration! Both are very family-friendly and not at all on par with Velocicoaster or even Mummy.

For the non-coasters, Monsters has a LOT of movement, but felt unlike much of anything else in any of the Orlando parks. The vehicle is very similar to FJ, but the ride felt very different to me. I got tossed around in my seat quite a bit, but don’t recall anything that felt like spinning or dropping.

My tolerance level has dropped quite a bit in recent years: the only ride that’s ever made me feel queasy is FJ for reasons I can’t explain. I can still ride things like Velocicoaster without feeling sick in any way… I just don’t enjoy the experience! Not sure when “near death” stopped feeling fun, but I decided on the crest of the “top hat” of my last ride on Veloci that it was my last lol!
