Universal's Buy 2 days get 2 days upgradable to season pass?

So that makes it sound like the tickets on promotion from Universal are upgradable to season passes, and Universal would give the value of a 4 day ticket.

I have posted elsewhere regarding this same ticket and upgrading and the unknowns. http://disboards.com/threads/aph-up...viously-bought-from-ut.3572674/#post-57005096

From what I gathered from multiple calls, is that they really don't know what to tell people regarding this ticket. I think once you use the ticket, it is converted to a ticket with a specific monetary value in their system and they then can give us answers. My hope is that their system will recognize the ticket (after use in the parks) as a 4 day/2 park ticket.

I will post back after my trip, but it is after the OP's trip and I am not much help the them. I will be there March 17-19 with my Undercover Tourist 2+2 ticket that I am upgrading to an annual pass (not seasonal due to 2 concerts during my trip).

I don't think so. I think they are upgradable but they will only give you the value of a 2 day ticket.

UO would give you the amount for the 2 day and 'maybe' + 1 free day applied to the AP,
But it is possible that free day might not be counted in the future when you upgrade to a seasonal pass

I lean with what Damo posted

Don't count on the older 2+2 day passes that were out sometime back for a total free upgrade to the ap

I left yesterday and inquired about this

If policy changes for the time you are there and upgrading your tickets to the ap and giving you full value, please let us know

I had one of my sons with me and was at guest service to work out the ticket issue

I have the preferred ap but had unused tickets from years back when ioa was first built
Had saved them for trips when I took one of my sons to use

The park hoppers would not scan at the gate since the coding on them were no longer in the system

I swapped them out for individual one day P2P tickets
It was quick and easy
Only needed my id for the process

About 2 months back, UT listed on their ticket site the 2+2 passes would only convert to an amount for 3 day cost when upgrading

With Volcano Bay opening in May, I'm thinking could be more ticket changes in the works since Volcano Bay will be called a third park

We are hoping to upgrade to the seasonal pass in July (on the 3rd day). I know July is blocked out, but I asked on another page if they would let us upgrade. The thought was yes. If not, then we will upgrade to passes that don't have black out days as we have another trip planned in October when we are going to go to Universal a few days. We are getting a room onsite for the July trip for the express passes, but we haven't decided if we will "need" them in October.

Yes if you upgrade your 3 day tickets after you are in the park that (black out) third day, they will allow you to stay in the park

I have not looked at the seasonal black out dates for October recently
Only glanced at it when it first came out and thought the Columbus Day weekend was effected

Have not checked it so I could be mistaken if October has any blocked out dates

I say this a lot but if you email guest services and ask them the question of upgrading, and if their reply is what you need, copy the email

Gs will honor what they state
In the email to you

Policy can change at times and a paper copy reply would be to your advantage

There are two different versions of the UT 2+2 ticket and it is why (I think) I got different the answers when calling multiple times. When someone is on the phone or email with Universal, I think it is hard for them to determine EXACTLY what kind of ticket you have. It would be easier for Universal employees if there were not so many different versions of tickets at different purchase outlets and I am not blaming them for not knowing exactly what ticket I hold in my hand when they cannot see it.

Universal: 2-Park 2-Day Park-to-Park - Plus 2 Extra Days FREE Ticket (PROMO)
Valid for use now through May 31, 2017. Unused days will be forfeited.
Adult cost 2/8/17 is $242.95 at UT

Universal: 2-Park 2-Day Park-to-Park - Plus 2 Extra Days Ticket
Adult cost 2/8/17 is $268.95 at UT

I am not going to worry about it and will simply use my ticket when I get there and see what happens. My plan is to use one of my four tickets upon arrival and then see if I can upgrade it to a power pass (due to the Mardi Gras concert blackout of seasonal pass during my visit). If I can and the upgrade price makes sense, I am golden and have the pass and my other 3 enter the park with their tickets. If it cannot be upgraded or if the cost doesn't compute, I will return one of the other three unused tickets to UT (I will lose 5% of the purchase price) and simply buy the power pass.

I am really not worried about my situation and just have been posting what I have been told to try and help others asking questions about upgrading. I am probably adding more confusion than clarity and will wait to post more until after my visit. Knowing now what I didn't back in November 2016 when I bought my tickets, I would probably do it differently and buy 3 tickets from UT or another discount ticket site and then an annual pass from Universal.

Thanks for sharing your plan. I am also going to try to upgrade the UT 2+2 Promo ticket to a seasonal pass. I was a bit nervous since I have a room booked at Hard Rock with an AP rate. But I have purchased 3 of those promo tickets and I like your idea of trying to upgrade one and if it doesn't work just returning one of the unused and buying the seasonal pass. I will be there in the last week of February and will post my results.

I was just trying to print my B2G2 UT tickets and saw that they are only good for 7 days from activation, (which completely throws a wrench into our pre and post-cruise visit we have planned in 2 weeks :sad2:) SO, it looks like I'm going to HAVE to try and upgrade everyone, just so we can use the 2 tail end days. This really steams my clams. I KNOW we've done front and back end visits on previous cruises. Is this new??? New or not, it totally blows!

My tics, for what it's worth say:

2-PARK, 4-DAY PTP ADULT SC

Thanks for the advice of contacting guest services. We will do that. I double checked the blackout dates, and there are none for October of this year.

Yes, please post your results when you get back. I've just booked my RPR room with APH rate for our April trip. I'm thinking about buying these UT 2+2 Promo tickets ( $250/ticket with tax included) and upgrade them when we get there. Or should I just purchase the Preferred annual passes now. Thanks!

Preferred ap has benefits
Very few dates have park restrictions
10% discount off food and merch at many places in city walk and hotel eateries
10% discount for food and merch(excluding carts) in both parks

Free garage parking once ap activated

See the website for more preferred ap benefits

Compare savings if you go with the seasonal ap

All aps allow hotel discounts when available

I always do a long stay for hhn and then a couple of short visits at other times if the year so the preferred works well for me

Park admission with the preferred always makes me come out ahead financially since tickets are now increased

If you are only planning to do the darkside for the upcoming trip and have no plans for another within the next 12 months, it might be cheaper to go with ticket passes

Thank you so much, Macraven.

I definitely need at least one annual pass because it saves us about $500 under APH room rate (4 nights at club level), this will be our first onsite stay. We're also planning on going back next Spring Break.

Preferred pass is the cheapest pass that allows us to get in both parks during spring break time frame.
