We are planning an upcoming trip for next Spring. My boys are really wanting to visit Universal for a day. The cost of a one day ticket is a lot! I used to use my airmiles to get "free" Universal tickets, but that does not seem to be an option anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar? Thank you!

Really, the prices are comparable to Disney prices, it is what it is. We usually buy our Universal tickets direct from Universal online (Disney tickets we always get from Undercover Tourist) as they almost always have some sort of deal. These are usually multi-day deals, but that is worthwhile for us because, since they were about 13, the kids preferred Universal to Disney. A couple of days is mandatory for our crew.

Not aware of any discounts specific to Canadians, others may pipe in here. Do be sure to get Park-to-Park because it is the only way to get the full Harry Potter experience (Universal was BRILLIANT in creating a ride that requires two park entries!) If your kids like thrill rides (mine do!), you will need a lot of time - there are a lot of really good rides packed in there; probably more than you can do in a day.

Have fun!

Air Miles still offers Universal one day passes (free) with miles. I just did a mock purchase. 2 parks, 1 day, park to park on April 2 is 2928 Dream miles or $292.84. You can also choose to just do 1 day, 1 park as well.

Thanks so much! Do you have to request these through the personal shopper? I have lost my “onyx” status, but if you can still get the tickets, I might just have to start collecting again. Really appreciate your help

Don't need onyx or personal shopper. Sign in, then under the Travel, Extras section on airmiles.ca website.

https://travel.airmiles.ca/en/extras.html

Select the number of people you need tickets for. For location put Universal, and your dates. If you want to use Dream miles to pay, click that box. Then search. All of the options will populate. It will show the dollar cost. So add to cart the ticket you want. And then at the top of the screen it will show the total dollar and total number of dream miles required.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate your help. :)

I would look at staying for 2 full days. I don't think you can see or do everything the boys might want to do in one day. Like some one else said, Universal runs a lot of special multi day ticket deals. I would wait for one of those.
Our first time to Universal, we only did one day and one side. That was not enough to do even that one side for us.
Now we are going this November for 5 1/2 days with special multi day park tickets which decreased the cost alot, and looking forward to relaxing and taking our time to see and do most of it:)
