Just wondering. Have you ever spent your vacation on-site at Disney World, but driven over to Universal Studios for the day? If so, how much is a ticket for just the day? Any suggestions? Also, how far is it to Universal from Disney World? Thanks guys!

If you go to the universal board, you will probably get better info, but here is the best that I remember-it's been a year since I did it. It seemed to take about 30 minutes to get from the BC to Universal parking lot. There was some light traffic and I didn't exactly know where I was going-just followed signs- but it wasn't too bad of a drive. They usually have great deals on 2 park-2 day tickets. A lot of times, you can get a third day free. On the 1 day tickets- you only get into 1 of the 2 Universal parks. Ticket prices are about $100 for 2day/2 park and $50 for 1 day/1 park(no park hopping). You can get discounts sometimes.

I love Disney, but Universal has some great rides too and I think it is well worth the trip.

PS If you go on Jaws-DO NOT sit in the middle rows-you will get the seat of your pants wet and this is not fun. You can tell people who have been on this ride before-they will refuse to ride in the center 2 rows.

We have done that a few times. Last year we stayed at the Hard Rock for 3 nights and went to Universal. My kids love that park too. We have stayed at Disney and gone to Universal and it was not too difficult. I think that the travel time and parking etc is about 1/2 hour total. We bought our tickets before we left at AAA. They had a good special and it saved time when we got to the park. We bought a 2 day pass becuse you can't hop between parks without one. Universal is a nice park and I think you will enjoy it. DH and Children really love IOA.

Its not a far drive at all, for us it was about 15-20 minutes from the All Star areas.

We loved Universal, in fact just spent 14 days there with a Flex Ticket.

My son now will tell you Disney is for Babies, and Universal is for REAL KIDS. They loved the center row of Jaws, and loved thrills, and the hi tech rides.

Yes ... we spent two weeks at the former Dixie Landing Resort back in 2000 and drove to USF/IOA for a day each ... no problem at all. We found we did not spend as much time at IOA as we're both a bit queasy over some of the more thrill rides ... except for Spiderman ... it is absolutley great!
