I have a day to kill before my WDW tickets start and I was thinking of doing Universal Studios for one day. I'll be traveling solo and I love roller coasters, that being said which park should I choose? Thanks.:goodvibes

If you like roller coasters then I would choose Islands of Adventure, because it has the HULK and Dueling Dragons, both awesome roller coasters. Also, not a roller coaster, but don't miss the Spider Man ride, it is the best!!

There isn't a shuttle service that commutes to WDW and Universal, is there? I suppose I could take a cab?

I might add that Universal Studio's itself (the original park) does not have any roller coasters. All they have are MK and Epcot style attractions. Some better than Disney's some not. So I agree with the above...if you want to go for the coasters then IOA is your place, and check out Spiderman.

To IOA for coasters and Monte I would post your question on best way to WDW from Universal over on our transportation board.I think the experts there gould give you several good options and the cost of those options.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

IOA!! Great rollercoasters.... then again...I puked my guts up after riding the Hulk but my DH (the rc junkie) loved that and Dualing dragons... He said they were great & left me on a bench while he rode on them a few times! :rotfl:

I think universal is great so I dont think you will be disappointed w/ either one...I even think they have a special w/ tickets that you can get both parks for not much more then a single park... :goodvibes

Not true anymore. The original park has the Mummy, which is an excellent indoor, heavily themed roller coaster. That being said, I'd still recommend IoA since it has more thrill rides and in my own opinion is the better park.

There is no shuttle service, and I've seen others mention a cab is about $40 each way. It would probaly be cheaper to rent a car for the day from one of the onsite Alamo locations.

If you can make it work out, It's definately worth the trip. IoA has been my favorite theme park since my first trip there back in 2000 :)

The Studios does have a roller coaster. :) its the Mummy (Revenge of the Mummy I think its called) and it is an indoor coaster and it is great! :thumbsup2

$40.00 each way???:scared1: Good heavens that's awfully high.

You can do both parks in one day - the ticket cost $77.00 online or $83.00 at the gate. That would be my first choice if you didn't mind spending about
$10 -$12 more.

If you only want to do one park - choose IOA - that is my favorite park for Roller Coasters and Spiderman.

Have fun! I'll be there end of the week!

We did the 1 day - 2 park pass, mostly because it was only like $10 more.

The Mummy is a really wild rollercoaster - my husband lost his sunglasses, and I thought I was going to lose my glasses (which would have been bad, because seeing is needed to have fun at theme parks *L*)

We really enjoyed both the US parks.

I've moved this over to the US/IOW board .. The experts here will chime in for you too!

Thats not quite true - we have done in the past (and just did this past Friday) a Mears shuttle from WDW (any resort) to Universal. The cost is $16 (round trip) per person. It is a great deal and very convenient (they have shuttles running 24x7).

They also go to Sea World, Busch Gardens and Wet 'n' Wild.

All you have to do is call them about 24 hrs before you want to leave and they'll set it up from there. You pay the driver when you get on the bus/shuttle van.
