Universal Studios Shows December 7th

This is the first time we will be visiting Universal in December. Unfortunately, the only day that we will be able to see the shows at Universal Studios is Saturday, December 7th. According to crowd calendars it is an 8 - 10 . How bad are the crowds? Is it shoulder to shoulder like Disney? Will I be able to maneuver my scooter?

We want to see a lot of the shows, especially Macy's Parade at 5:30 and I would like to see Mannheim Steamroller at 7:00. Since this is our first time, I have no idea, where the parade viewing area is and what time should we find a place for the parade. Also, where do we see Mannheim Steamroller? Do we need tickets?

I am so lost. Any help and suggestions, will be greatly appreciated.

We’ll be there the same day. Didn’t realize it was expected to be so crowded- I wonder why? It’s still early in the month but well after Thanksgiving... is it the last Saturday before AP blackout dates or something? Where are you getting your crowd estimate?

We went to those 2 things the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year. I don't pay attention to crowd calendars, it was fairly crowded, but we easily found a place to watch the parade on the street near the concert area. We walked in and kept going straight past Minions and the Rip Ride Rockit on the left. The concert area is right there on the left also; the concert viewing space did not ever fill up completely. You should not have a problem finding a space to watch the concert after the parade.

I am very picky about my parade spots, because I want the best backgrounds for photos, so I typically hunker down about an hour before the parade. If any ol spot will do for you, I'd suggest arriving about 10-15 minutes before the parade. I would also recommend that you stay in the "Production" area of USF just so your close(er) to the concert area. (The production area is where Shrek, Minions, Rip Ride Rockit, Monsters Cafe and the Stage are located.) I don't think a Universal 8 is the same as a Disney 8, I'm sure the park will be crowded, but I don't think it will be shoulder to shoulder. ENJOY, it's a great parade!!

You could always book the sweets and sounds dessert party with reserved areas for the parade and concert plus food and drinks.
