We (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 & 10) are planning to spend the day here March 11th, 2011.

My kids love rides and won't likely be scared off by any of the ones here. Is the Front of the Line pass going to be necessary this time of year or will the park be quiet enough that we will be able to get onto everything at least once without?

Thanks

A Friday will be busier than other weekdays, but March 11 is definitely in the off-season at USH. I would not pay extra for the front-of-the-line pass, but following a plan is a good idea.

Get there in time so you will be at the front gates when they open. First, go to the Simpsons Ride. Next, I would take the Studio Tour. Then, go down to the lower lot and enjoy all the rides and shows. Go back up to the upper lot for more shows and attractions. You should then have time to explore City Walk and perhaps have dinner in one of the many restaurants there.

Thanks very much. I was hoping you'd say that.

Following a plan is a great idea too.

Thanks again.

We just returned from our trip. We spent a day at Universal. You mention that your kids love rides. Just be aware that there are really only three rides at Universal Hollywood (four if you count the tour as a ride, which I don't). The shows were very good, but we are more of a "rides" family than a "shows" family. It was interesting to try something different from Disney for a day, but I didn't find the park worth the price of admission (and we got a $10 discount per ticket from AAA). My family (including DS16 and DS13) felt that we wouldn't want to return for at least another 5 to 10 years. :confused3
