Universal Studios Express Pass

What are some recent experiences for the Universal Express Pass? Do the express lines get backed up? We want to go President's day, and are wondering if splurging for the express pass would help with the long lines?

Sometimes Express lines get backed up. But still far quicker than regular lines. President's Day is quite crowded.

The couple times I've had Express pass it has been very quick, even on very crowded days.

Update: My aunt and I went to Universal today. We used the Express Pass! I'm so glad we did. We walked on basically all the rides. Before noon, the park wasn't very crowded. Around 12:30 or so we did the Studio Tour. After the tour, the park was super packed! It was hard to maneuver in the Upper Lot.
