I beat my all time high score on MIB today! My new high score to beat (no laughing now) is 312,000. And yes, that's with the bonus at the end...

Oh, my LMT classes are going well. I'm learing Oriental Massage this session and we had a pop quiz. I, one of the newbies, got the highest score in the class, an 87!

Well, everything is fine...thank goodness...supposedly a student saw a man nearby with a gun. They had the lock down for at least an hour...for our high school and the elementary school next door. The police didn't find anyone...so we don't know if there really was a person or not...you never know...

So...nothing left to do in forth period...how's everyone doing?

Hey! I got a reply from the one Ghostbuster guy. He said he pictures should be all right but he will check to make sure the other guys don't MIND their picture being up. So....cool!!

Police descend on Venice High campus after report of man with a shotgun

VENICE – Reacting to a student’s report of a man on campus carrying a shotgun under a trenchcoat, Venice High School went into “Code Red” security status this morning, locking down the campus and calling in more than 20 police officers to investigate.

But nothing was found and school returned to normal around 8:30 a.m. Principal Candace Millington said there would be additional police patrols on campus the rest of the day.

Venice High School regularly has Code Red drills, but this was the first time the school has issued it for real. Millington said teachers, students, school security and police responded exceptionally.

Students were secured in locked classrooms within two minutes after the decision to go to Code Red around 7:30 a.m.

Venice police and Sarasota County sheriff’s officers responded with weapons drawn and with search dogs. They first searched Venice Elementary School, then the high school campus. Nothing suspicious was found.

The student who made the report was being interviewed this morning by Venice police.

Well, the police have updated the news. Apparantly, the 9th-grade "witness" had made the entire thing up. Can you believe this?!?! And what's even worse, is the last thing I heard she wasn't going to be punished! Just sent to counciling!

I'm sorry, but an intruder with a gun is no laughing matter. No matter how messed up in the head you may be, you can only learn from your mistakes by facing the consequences. I mean, this girl caused TWO schools to go under lock down. They didn't say who this was, but, UGH! I seriously can not believe someone would joke about this. Kids need to GROW UP.

But the good news about this is, we can still feel "safe" at our school. Of course, maybe after this incident, next time won't be as shocking...and students won't be as assertive...remember the story of "the boy who cried wolf." That's EXACTLY what we need around here...
