Universal Orlando = the best time of our vacation!

Well I am going to keep this very short!

We were at


Portifino Bay Hotel - August 7/August 9

We had been at this hotel previously two years ago and absolutely loved it. This stay was even better! We had a Deluxe Pool view booked and had almost the same room as two years ago, overlooking the Beach Pool! All I can say about this hotel still is WOW! It is still so stunning. The rooms are huge, the restraunts are great, everything is perfect! This morning on the flight home we talked about how we wished we had booked this hotel for more nights.




Universal Orlando was INCREDIBLE. All the parks were in top condition and having front of the line access on EVERY RIDE since we stayed at an On-Site hotel was the best thing ever. Every single ride we were allowed to go straight onto with the maximum wait for 5 minutes at the most! We were able to get on almost as man rides in 1 FULL DAY and 3 HOURS at Universal than 5 days at Disney!

Did you get my room?LOL When you said beach view I thought of "my" room 2665! Don't you just love that place! I can't wait soon it will be our turn to go back. This time just the grown ups. Did you eat all the yummy funnel cakes in IOA? I'm glad you had a wonderful trip and thanks for that report. It really gets me excited about our upcoming trip. Seems as if everyone is trying out the RP and you hardly see any reports on PBH.

No I don't eat funnel cakes, LOL!

Oh but be aware that the restrants and stores have LIMITED OPERATING HOURS at Portifino Bay Hotel! At check-in they will provide you with hours! Most places open for breakfest until 11 or so...and dont re-open until 5'ish....It's very hard to find food if you want to stay at the hotel! Other than that everythin was great!


Our Room # was 2563 I believe, but may be off, I'll check tommorow...

We originally faced the Villa pool but switched to a Beach Pool view since we loved it two years ago.

We did'nt eat at the hotel once the last stay except the Nanny had room service one night! $60 for just her! Ouch! I did have a breakfast the last morning we were there but it was only $20 bucks and that was enough! We ordered pizza from Flippers and some pasta from there another time. This trip is 4 adults! We plan on Ruth's Chris, Margaritiville, Mythos, and I can't remember the name of the place everyone recommends in US but that's another choice and prob. pizza one night! I'm so glad you got the room you wanted and I was thinking of trying the place at the hotel not the fancy one but the step down shoot my memory is shot! Thanks for the heads up on the hours. I know you can get room service 24/7 right?

Oh I forgot to ask, did you notice if they still do dive in movies at the beach pool? We did'nt stay in July on a Sat night but notice a sign posted that Sat night they were showing mib2. Did you happen to catch that info?

We'll be at PBH for two nights the end of this week!! I have a couple of questions.

What is the difference between the beach and the villa pool?

Do they have a movie every week? I thought that was just at the HRH?

Well, the beach pool is just that. Sand and a zero entry pool. The Villa pool is a hugh pool like a lap pool. This is a monster of any regular hotel pool I've ever saw! It has cabana's for rent and spa pools too and an eatery drink place. The Beach Pool has the eatery and pool hops as well. Now about the movies i don't know if there still playing them but on the sat. night we stayed in july they were playing mib2.
