Universal orlando shoe/repellent?

So this may be more of a general question but....

Wife, daughter and I are heading to Universal Orlando Nov 15-19th...even managed to score an OI ticket for that friday. We've lucked out on the weather for our honeymoon 10 or so years ago and most recently our trip in february so I figure we may be due for some inclement weather.

I swear by brooks shoes specifically the ghost series. They are NOT water proof or dare I say even water resistant. Any recommendations for this problem whether it be spray repellent that I've not used before or even a completely different shoe? I'd prefer not necessarily to carry around 'water shoes' or 'flip flops'. I normally bring an extra pair of socks with me whereever I go but just looking for any opinions!

Another question unrelated, I believe when I ordered my OI ticket for nov 18th it was stated somewhere another email would come with more information...perhaps a menu or something? When does that usually come out?

Thanks!

There are a few different water repellant spray brands you can use on tennis shoes; I have used Scotchguard and Crep Protect. If the shoe has any mesh, like many running shoes do, the water will still get in those areas. Maybe try a pair of the comfy sandals. There are several brands, but the most popular are Teva, Keen, Merrell, and Chaco. I personally can't wear them all day in the park (after 2 foot surgeries), but they are great to have for the water rides or to wear for a few hours during a storm. Lots of people with normal feet can wear them all day, and you may find that to be true as well.

I have seen ads for a waterproof tennis shoe recently on social media, but they honestly didn't look too comfy. If you don't find waterproof shoes, you can stuff your wet shoes with newspaper overnight and they will dry a lot faster. I read that trick on these boards years ago.

Hello! for the meetup, OI typically sends an email specific to you to about 2-3 weeks ahead of time. For Dec 10-11 last year, my email is dated 11/23.

It will verify your dates; which park you check in to get your tickets; provide links to the menu, park maps, etc; and give you a QR code and a confirmation code to use to get your tickets each day. It will have instructions and times and other info specific to your ticket(s). There is a phone number that you can use to call or text with questions.

Brooks are great tennis shoes. However, I go with Keens sandals for the theme parks. They dry out well and can be easily hosed off in the shower if you step in really dirty water. Good at the pool too.
