Universal or Disney World???

Really?

In my zillions and zillions and zillions and zillions of times going to Epcot, I've only had to wait in a line once, maybe twice, for spaceship earth, and those lines took no longer than 5 minutes.

And also, yeah I actually should have said we normally don't ride Energy. Usually only if it's just loading or something. :confused3

Allllllllllllllllllso, I don't care how many times you tell me it's not possible to go through Epcot by 3 PM. My mom and I have done it. Actually multiple times. So I know for a fact that it's possible. So stop telling me it's not.

Thank you and good night.

I am not going to disagree with you about waiting in no line for Spaceship Earth...I am just curious to know when you go down. We usually go down in March and July and the lines are at least 30 minutes long for it LOL. I have always asked myself why there would be such a long wait for such a ride. Maybe, judging on when that queue is very short, other queues will be short as well (and that could help us decide when we should plan around) Again, when do you normal go to WDW? (for planning purposes LOL)

I only say it isn't possible based on facts. I don't know you and your mom and so for all I know it may very well be possible depending on how fast you walk or whether you change your order of what ride you visit when (going to the world showcase to future world and back to world showcase eats up a lot of your time so I would assume you don't normally go back and forth like that.) Maybe you do all of the world showcase in one time and then future world. (Again, I don't know, I am just assuming lol)

Also, I don't like debating about whether it is possible if YOU can do EPCOT by 3, it actually seems to be getting a little off topic lol. I only provided the official ride lengths and estimated queue times. That could very well vary on its own.

EDIT TO ADD: You're right, some of my estimated walk times are incorrect. After doing further research, I have discovered it does not take 8 minutes to get from Spaceship Earth to the World Showcase, it takes 30 minutes.

ALSO: Animal Kingdom is the largest park in Walt Disney World, not EPCOT (just thought this was an interesting fact to add...) While AK is larger in area, EPCOT and AK are the same in walking length.

Too much typing!Mike and Loves Disney SSTTOOPP!!!!! (that slipped out too..)

I don't know how long it takes me. I never timed myself, this is official word from Walt Disney World resources. Just about everything I have said are facts from reliable sources. ;) I wouldn't post a direct statement like that if it was my own time. That wouldn't be fair...

Could I get a link or something to where you're getting this info from then?

I try not to get all my information from the internet as some sites may be fraud. Here is my source:

Birnbaum's Walt Disney World. 2006. Page 139; section EPCOT (hot tip).

I would Say Disney cause if you like Universal studios you smell and you look like a pig and you , you , your dumb LMAO!!! Im JK please dont get all upset LOL Now in all seriousness comparing these two parks is apples and oranges , im saying this cause universal studios was made more adult oriented where as Disney has been about families all the time its been in business. so really there is no better than. Im not going to debate this just think about it , how many g rated movies did universal put out to disney it is just fact !!!

What do you guys do? Run in the park? The times Loves Disney had are right. Unless you hit a timewarp.
Ummm, not to be mean or anything, but have you read anything I've posted? I said the times they had estimated about how long it took for line times and the times it took to eat were wrong.

I usually go in December, March, a few times during the summer, and October. I usually ride it in the morning/afternoon.

I'm telling you, based on facts, because I've done it and they arn't stuff I'm getting off the internet, that it is possible. Why can't you seem to comprehend that? I'm not going off of what Joe Shmo says is the usual times, I'm going off the times I PERSONALLY encounter.

No. We don't go back and fourth from World Showcase to Future World. We hate to backtrack because it's wasted time, so we go more in a line you know.

Yes. This is getting...:offtopic:

If it takes you half an hour to walk from Spaceship Earth to World showcase, then you must be stopping to look at every blade of grass you pass. That's just ridiculous.

And I've talked to people who work for Disney says that if you don't count all the land for the animals that you don't see, then Epcot is bigger. But I dunno.

Duh! DW rocks and US is just there, not worth $42.00 for a one time, one ride fast past.

Easiest answer on the DIS.

I think you can get a two day two park pass for about $60. Also, you can only use one fast pas per ride at Disney. Unless they have some sort of multi-ride thing. :confused3

I know you are and I am only providing the factual times. I can't tell you what my personal times are exactly because to me, time is not what matters down there and so I don't keep a tracking record that you seem to know of yours so well. It too find 30 minutes a bit much, but that is the time I got from an official source. It is a FACT that Animal Kingdom is larger (and yes, that counts the land area for animals.) It is also true that EPCOT and AK are the same when it comes to pedestrian areas. I "comprehend" all you have said, I just don't agree with all of it. There is a difference. I am NOT putting you down AT ALL!!! I am just supplying what is proved.

**What estimated times are you talking about because the queue length is also an official time.

OK, end it, it's getting old! Why is everyone debating the fact that Munky can get through Epcot by 3:00?! I don't doubt that you could get done by 3:00, if you pick and choose what you want to do. Who cares about the "official" numbers? They're just statistics recorded by some author of a book, they're not factual at all times of the year and for all guests interests. Why do you care so much that Munky can get done by 3:00?!!

You can't really go by the book on times and such, mainly because they are just average times to make sure people get to where they're going in time. Since Munky is saying that he usually goes in like December and March I can easily believe that what he's saying is the truth, sinch these are usually off season for the most part.

Exactly. We usually don't go when there is a huge ammount of people there. We go during like, weekdays during December. :confused3 This results in short ride lines, and the ability to walk to different places faster.

I was ONLY posting what was "written" because everyone else was going by opinion lol. I don't agree with some myself but thought I could add in some "official" word. I also agreed that he probably could manage it. I have tried to end this earlier as I realized how utterly off topic it was getting. Quite frankly, I could care less anymore if MuNkY got EPCOT done by 3. The entire basis of this segment of debate was that Universal is smaller than WDW. Everyone knows that and now, I too believe this can end lol. MuNkY, I am very sorry if I disagreed with you, but I tried to do so respectfully and appropriately. AND IN OTHER NEWS.... lol.

well, i couldnt tell you now which i like better but i can tell you that i am going to disney and universal in september! this will be my 1st universal trip but my 6th trip for DW! so far its disney all the way!

princess:

I would say if your going for 7 days 5 at disney (there is more to see and do) 2 days at Universal (Princesses aren't bugging you to hug them)

Personally, Disney for me wins hands DOWN. Why do I think this? I went to Universal last year in August, and toured it in two days. The theming is fantastic. Have you even seen the line (s) for the Dueling Dragons ride in IOA? The theming they do is amazing. However, sometimes (Seuss landing) the stuff is tacky. It's just plain-out blunt cheesy. I think they put Suess Landing in to please the children. Universal has two very grown up parks.

However, Disney is extremely diverse. You've got Epcot (you can learn something new there every visit), you've got MGM (Hollywood done well [universal does Hollywood better, however]). MGM has Sunset Boulevard. The DETAIL put into this area is mind blowing. Tower of Terror? This beats out every single one of Universal's rides. Every single one. The theming in this ride is unbelievable. Details, details, and more details. The Imagineers viewed every single Twilight Zone episode at least three times to make sure they got the feel for what the Fifth Dimension seen should look like. However, Universal does have a great amount of detail that they put into their rides. The Mummy ride is fantastic. Jaws is very well detailed. Poseidon is as well. But when you look at the incredible amount of theming put into each and every Disney park...THAT'S what blows the other competition away. Animal Kingdom is purely detail.

Restaurants are the same thing. The restaurants in Universal are just...blah. The food sucks. Besides the Hard Rock, the theming is as great. But if you don't care for interesting theming for your food choices, even THEN the food doesn't match up to Disney standards. Sure, WDW food is overpriced, but it's good. And the theming is yet again great. You've got Prime Time, Sci Fi (the food sucks), Liberty Tree Tavern...the list goes on.

Hotels...well Universal has basically three main hotels. Disney has over a dozen. The theming put into the Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian...geez.

So in my opinion....

Disney >>>>>>> Universal

I think 50/50 ! Wdw is open longer and has DQ ! BUT ... it has more kiddy rides , whereas Universal doesn't ! Duelling Dragons ( brill ) , The hulk ( fab) ! they even each other out so ....... :confused3 ! i luv dem both
