Hi All

Has anyone ordered tickets from Universal Website? I ordered the 2 adults/2 kids free tickets and I'm confused.

I ordered them 3 weeks ago and wanted them Fed exed to me. They never came. Called this weekend and was told that "someone" cancelled them. They reordered them for me and I just got them.

The tickets say "admit one guest" on one side and say "5day/2 park pass" on the other.

It doesn't say anything about being for kids and I thought they were only supposed to be for 4 days. Are these the right tickets? Do I turn these in when I get to Universal or are these my passes?

Thanks

The bonuspass doesn't specify for adult or child. That is how the bonus passes come. You can use any of the tickets for either the adults or children. Even though the pass is advertised on the site as buy 2 days, get 2 days free, they are still sending the buy two days/get 3 days free. You just get an extra day free. Enjoy!

Those are you tickets. Nothing to exchange. Just use them to enter the parks.

Is this how they come out at the kiosk too? We will be there on Sunday and just wondered if we would get the 5 days as well. Would be a great BONUS to our vacation! If that is the case, we might even go over on Saturday night for a few hours. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the kiosk. I do know the online orders are sending the 5 days though. I'll see what I can find out today.

well, let me ask you this, we have two adults going in January. can i just buy one of the tix and then use the "kids" ticket for the other adult since there is no indication on the ticket as to whether it is a kid or an adult?

There is no restriction on the ticket for an adult or child. The bonus pass is the same for both adults and children. That said, I hate to see the system abused. The 5 day bonus pass is an excellent deal with or without the free kid's ticket. I would just hate to see it discontinued because of a glitch.

Is this how they come out at the kiosk too?

I just found out that the kiosks are also giving the 5 days as of right now. That could change at anytime though.

Phantom! Thank you so much for looking into that for me! I will just hope that it is still that way on Saturday, if not, nothing lost, nothing gained! If it hasn't been said before, You are a very valuable person on these boards! We appreciate all that you do for us!!!!!!

So basically if i buy one online ticket (2days 2 parks), and ask for the 1 child free, i can actually use that ticket for another adult and not a child?
I am not abusing the system just a little curious.

Just curious? The bonus pass is the same for adults and children. There is no special child's bonus pass just as there is no child's annual pass. One size fits all. If the system is abused, I am sure it won't last long.

phamton, do you know if those tickets that are talked about here have any expiration dates on them?

if i buy those tickets now for the future, will they always be valid?

many thanx phamton.

i guess i should go ahead and buy the passes now instead of waiting until march when they sometimes list sales for them.

i have been debating to buy the ap for universal.
maybe i should just go ahead with the tickets now.

Silly girl, you need an annual pass! Those tickets will get you through one trip but an annual pass can get you through several, not to mention the discounts. The first year we went to Universal when we still lived in Texas, I bought the 5 day bonus pass because it was such a good deal. Then we went back before the year was up and I was kicking myself for not buying an annual pass. If not a preferred annual pass, at least get a Power Pass.

I bought these tickets too buy one and get a kids free.. And received the 5 day Bonus Passes. When I bought the tickets the expiry date is was suppose to be April 2006. But no expire date on the tickets. I was told there was no difference in the adult and child 5 day bonus pass. But I was looking closely the other day and noticed that ewverything on the tickets are the same except the "PLU" Number's on 3 of the tickets the PLU number ends in"1" and the other 3 ticket's "PLU" end in "2". Could this be the "1";s are adult's and the "2" Childs????

Your tickets didn't have the name imprinted on each ticket, right? I assume when you went through the gate the first time, you just handed everyone a pass and then either signed it then or had the fingerprint scan attached. If there was a certain ticket for the child and a certain ticket for the adult, it would be printed on the pass so you wouldn't get them mixed up the first time you used them.

edited to add: the PLU number doesn't identify a ticket. The barcode is the only thing that the scanners read. If the barcode doesn't scan then the numbers above the barcode or punched in manually at the gate, not the PLU number.

edited to add again: Please, anyone who is considering abusing the system, just don't. If the ticket doesn't scan correctly, you may be sent to guest services. All tickets there can be viewed by the transaction (sales info). It will show that the tickets were purchased as a kids free. This could become an issue for those who have been given child's tickets by other people on this board also as that ticket is shown to be part of a package. You honestly don't want to take a chance of having your tickets confiscated or worse.

Okay - just bought my 2 tickets with 2 free child online (for husband and I and 2kids)/ will need to go to Kiosk to redeem them.
Do we all get 5 tickets or just one pass to use for 5 days. Confused?
Or do we use the finger scan each day?
Also I have a 1 one year old - we do not need a ticket for her correct?

You will each get a ticket (except for the one year old who doesn't need a ticket.)

Each ticket will have all 5 days on the ticket. You will get 4 tickets total, one for you, one for your husband, and one for each of the two kids.

Most multi-day tickets require a finger scan. They will prompt you how to do it at the gate when you enter the park. Be sure and put names on the ticket so you don't get them mixed up or the fingerscan won't work the next time you go through.

I don't normally come to this board as we always do Disney. We have plans to go to Disney next week. Was thinking of trying Universal next Dec. Where can I get these tickets? I looked on the universal site and couldn't find them. So would I pay for 2 days each for me and hubby and get 3 days free for each of us plus 5 days free for our 2 children? I must be misunderstanding as this sounds too good to be true. Also if it is correct can I buy them now and use them next Dec as that will be the soonest we would be able to go. Thanks for anyone that can explain it to me.

You are absolutely correct but the tickets must be used before April 30. The site is advertising buy 2 days, get 2 more days free for a total of 4 days. It seems that everyone that has ordered them have actually received 5 days total. I have yet to see anyone receive only 4 days but of course that could change. For each paid adult ticket, you will also receive free ticket for your child.
