Okay DD is 8 but an absolute thrill seeker, fear factor type. We have 9 days, we were going to do 6 Disney, 2 Universal and 1 Sea World.

Okay the fish are now out of the picture, and we were wondering do you need 2 days for Universal?

We are talking November 3 to 13.

Also are the parks extra busy on November 11th, I did not think it was a holiday in the U.S.?

If you are meaning to do BOTH Universal parks, the Studios AND Islands of Adventure and this is your first time then I would highly recommend taking two days.

If you only want to visit the Studios, then you can do that in one day, however, for major thrills, I would recommend doing Islands of Adventure!

November 11th is Veterans Day in the U.S.
I have never been to WDW or Universal during that holiday but I do know that on holidays, all parks would be busier than usual.

Have a great trip!

If your DD is a thrill seeker, shes going to love universal and IOA. You need a full day to see each park, for me, both are great and I would have a hard time choosing my favorite. We usually take 3 days for these parks, probably because I can ride Spiderman over and over and over and over again, lol.

have fun

I managed to do both parks completely in one day, on a slow day, and a solo traveller. I cannot see both parks being both down with younger ones, unless you do commando style, or are staying on property and get FOTL access.
Saying that, according to all the tour books I own, November 11 weekend is one of the busier weekends. So, maybe if you were planning on going on November 11, the probability of doing both parks in one day is probably very low.
I really was surprised at how much I enjoyed USO and IOA. I had a great time and enjoyed all the wonderful thrill rides - it was really a nice pace change from Disney.
Good luck planning.

We have tried to do it one day and you end up skipping stuff because you are so exhausted. Take 2 days.

4 adults with Express Pass could NOT do both parks in one day.

We have 2 more days on our passes and will use both of them this next trip just to do the stuff we couldn't get to the first time (mind you, it was also the week after Easter and the place was packed).

There are so many shows at US you could never do it in 1 day unless they are open late. We did 1 day US and 1 day IofA. We felt we did not see all of US and were very rushed.
