I know the forecast can change alot in the next couple of weeks but for now the 15 day forecast has Orlando at 100 degrees when we arrive on 6/19. I've been at WDW twice in August so it's not like we haven't been down in the heat and humidity. But we stay onsite, get to the parks at rope drop, come back and rest/swim in the afternoon and then go back at night. We're taking 2 days this trip to got to USF and IOA and since we won't have a car I had been planning on being there when the parks open and just staying until late in the afternoon and then going back to the hotel, so no midday break like we'd get at the Disney parks. Any recommendations for keeping cool? I should probably add that my son does not like rides where he gets wet so that's not really an option, although maybe if it's hot enough I could talk him into it.

TIA. :goodvibes

A couple of years ago, I was there in July. I got there when the park opened and did just about everything I wanted in the Studios. I took a break for an indoor lunch at one of the CityWalk restaurants. Then I went to an afternoon movie before going to Islands Of Adventure.

did you say you were staying on site at UO?

if you did, it is a very short walk back to the onsite hotels from the park.

you can walk back, take the shuttle bus, use the pedicab, or the water taxi to get to your resort.

many go to the parks in the morning and when it is around noon time and getting hot, they return to the hotel for a swim.

many return to the parks then in the evening.

i walk back to my hotel.
i can get there within ten minutes.

I may be reading it wrong, but it sounds like the OP might be staying at WDW and taking some type of transportation to Universal for a couple of days.

Yes, we'll be staying onsite at WDW and taking Mears or a taxi back and forth to Universal. I'm sorry if I wasn't clearer.

It was high 80's to 90 while i was there last week, but I found it pretty easy to cool down. There are misting stations all over both parks and many of the attractions and their lines are inside air conditioned queue areas! Drink lots of water to help keep yourselves hydrated too!

We were there last year at that time and even though it was hot/humid they had lots of misting fans and of course, there is nature's cool off - the afternoon showers :)

Now, I'm hoping that when we go next year at the beginning of November that it will be warm enough for the water rides!

That's the best advice anyone can give. :thumbsup2

I guess you're right. The forecast already shows it being slightly cooler, in the high 90s when we get there rather than 100. I hope the forecast keeps going down and it's just hot instead of super hot.

I live a few hours south of Orlando. It has not even come close to 100 yet. High 80's are the norm right now. Save some of the indoor shows for afternoon. You can relax and cool down in the air conditioning! We are going for three days from the 15-17. I'll try to post something about the heat when we get back! Have a great trip.
