I didn't notoice this posted yet so just an FYI. There's a special on Universal's Horror Nights tonight at 8pm EST on the travel channel.

awesome, i'm definately going to watch it! pirate:

darn!! i didn't know and just found out! i missed it last night! :sad2: is it rerunning? guess i'll have to check travel channel website..... :sad2:

We will be there during HHNs but unfortunately won't get to attend. I'm wondering if they keep all those decorations up during the day, and if so, how does this affect the rides? It looks as though alot of the mazes is centered around the rides and shows. I wouldn't think they would be able to put up and take down the stuff everyday. This will be the first time for everyone in my group. (I'm chapperoning a school trip) I want to be able to ride all the rides and do as many attractions as possible. Is my question making sense? lol

During the day, you would never know there is anything going on. They close the park for an hour or so before the evening event and WOW, if you can imagine the best props/makeup you've ever seen in a Hollywood Motion Picture, that's what you can expect at HHK. Not for the faint of heart.

The only things that are shut down due to HHN are Poseidon's Fury, the Jurassic Park Discover Center and the Thunder Falls Terrace restaurant.

You'll see a few props scattered here and there, but thats the extent to what you'll notice during the day.

I think it's rerunning Oct. 24, 27 and 31st.... :teeth:

Thank you! It's hard to believe by watching the show that you wouldn't know about it during the day. It looked so extensive. ( and cool!!) It will probably be a few years before I'll get to experience it since our youngest is only 5. Not to mention that it looks a little too scary for even me, lol. One of these days though, one of these days!

Thats not true. Props are scattered all throughout JP, LC, and POE. Marvel's props mostly consist of multiple things of scaffolding (at least last time I visited) cosntructed through the street. So day guests definitely would know about it because the props are everywhere, they can't take out every single prop after closing every night, there are just too many things to make that feasible.

Goofieruthie, they use to have a childrens club at Hard Rock where you could leave your little one. That's what we did with our grandaughters when we went, but they do only keep them unitl a certain time, can't remember what time it is. My son and wife had to leave a little early to pick them up, but they saw most of it.

Ok, so you can still see some of the stuff, but it doesn't interrupt any of the attractions, right? (excepted the ones already mentioned)

Also, my daughter was asking while we watched the show...Can you still ride the rides during HHNs or is it strictly for haunting then?

Can someone tell me exactly how scary it is? I'd like to go - I think - but am quite easily scared. I figured it couldn't be that bad because they let children in (though I note with a caution), but the only other report I heard said it was terrifying. I know it's subjective, but any other views would be appreciated.

Hmmm, let's see. Would any of the following bother you?

A masked lunatic out of nowhere, coming at you with a REAL chainsaw.
The fresh (and bloody) remains of a puppy strewn over the dining room table.
A tree that you are standing by, suddenly grabbing hold of you.

This is just a very small sampling. If you answered 'yes' to any of the above, I suggest you stand at the entrance to HHN and continue to enjoy it from that location only.

Thanks for quick reply Daddio. Yes to all of the above - not only scary but in bad taste - I guess it's Mickey's NSSHP for me after all.

Last year was my first year and I thought it was really scary! Although I did not see the puppy described (ugh - that would truly upset me) nor was I grabbed by a tree, I was chased by a masked chain saw wielder and got the bejeepers scared out of me by stone walls that suddenly moved, cannibals, and other assorted ne'er do wells.

That being said, I did have a lot of fun even though I'm easily startled. If you are a little squeamish about that sort of thing, I'd agree it isn't the environment for you (it isn't for kids either really but some still bring them!)
