What is Universal Studios like during the daytime during the Horror Nights? Are all the houses up and if so do they look scary to kids? And I am assuming that Universal gets busy during the days that it has a Horror Night as people stay in the parks for it? Does IOA also get busy during the daytime with people who then 'hop' over to Universal in time for the evening holding pen thingy? We aren't doing the Horror Nights but do want to do IOA for two days and Universal for one and want to get an idea of how much the Horror Nights will change our plans. Thanks.

The only thing you will notice during the day are some props that are too large to move so they are left in place. None of the houses are viewable as they are usually in the sound stages and in areas that are closed off during the day. The Studios will start to fill up after 3pm on those days but during the morning hours, it's not too bad.

There is really no big difference during the day on non-HHN nights vs nights when HHN is being held. You probably wouldn't even know there was a HHN scheduled if it weren't for the park closing earlier than normal.

As Metro said, you won't see anything but maybe a few larger props that are not movable. The houses are tucked away in areas not usually accessible to daytime guests.

You may notice the Studios start getting a bit busier around 4:00 pm as those guests utilizing the Stay and Scream option start moving to those areas.

Again, I doubt you'll notice any real difference during the day on non-HHN nights vs nights when HHN is being held.

Full agreement, the park is not scary at all during the day. Last year the only thing we saw just before they closed the park was an employee placing body parts into a steampunk-esque machine. We even took a picture of it as we thought it was pretty comical.
