Can anyone please tell me where an 11 year old can go at nite in Citywalk. We are going in May and despite having been 3 times before, we have never managed to be in Universal at nite due to our son. We really want to be there this year and it would be good to have a "heads up" as to what he can do there.

Not a lot unfortunately. There are some midway type games outside but the clubs are age restrictive at CityWalk. He enjoy a movie...the theater is VERY NICE!

You could still have a good night at Citywalk without clubbing it.
This year we went to the parks around 4pm me DW and DD12, then we went to Margaritaville for our dinner about 8:30-9:00,asked for a seat table down in the front where the Volcano is.There was live music on, and we had a very good night ,left at 1:00am, you could also go to the otherside of Matgaritaville Porch of Indecision but not sure what time it closes

We did Margaritaville also last month with our DS 5 and 8
We had a great dinner, and they had a balloon guy that walks around on stilts and made swords and such for the kids
That place is very kid friendly

Margaritaville is our fav, but we've also order food at the window at Latin quarter and listened to live music outside. There are several stores that are open and the theatre is really nice. We can find plenty to do at CW until 11pm or midnight.

I also was wondering this. Aren't most restaurants on Citywalk kids friendly? So if we go late at night to eat the kids won't be kicked out? Eg: Nascar Grille? I know they can't go in the bars but is it not like downtown disney with shops and restaurants and then the bars???

Sure the resturants are open late and are very kid friendly. Its just the clubs that are age restricted...Nascar--Bubbas--etc all are open late!!

If your son enjoys rock/pop music, depending on the evening you are there, a live band plays on the outdoor stage several evenings a week. The Universal 'house' band is Orange Avenue who are very good, and sometimes during holidays there is another band, 4th Wall Broken, who play some evenings who are excellent. I believe they begin at 6.30 and play three sets of 45 minutes each, with a 30 minute break in between.

Usually a very nice atmosphere, mixed crowd with lots of kids and adults, and enjoyable.

Susan

It's always a good idea to make ressies when you can and depending on when you're going, it's almost a neccessity. You can make reservations at the kiosk located across from the theater at CityWalk...if you're going to be there during the day. Or...you can call 407 224-FOOD...whichever is easier for you.

I don't think they require a deposit for ressies and two days should be OK. Easter time is definately busier so a ressie would be strongly recommended. Are you going to stay onsite? If so, you can get priority seating.

No,sadly not staying onsite. But we hope to in a few years time when our girls are older. We always stay on I-Drive,so when the time comes would stay onsite for a 2/3 days out of the holiday :thumbsup2 .Thanks again for your info.Where else would you recommend?.x.

For dinner? The Hard Rock Cafe and Bubba Gump's have good food and the atmospheres are pretty cool too.

Sorry-yes for dinner(5-6ish).I love Hard Rock Cafe :thumbsup2 .Thats the only one we have eaten in.I have had a nosey at Bubba Gump's menu :thumbsup2 .What about Nascar-the menu looks good, but it does'nt matter what that looks like it's what the food taste's like.x.

My boys and I had lunch at Bob Marley's restaurant. We really enjoyed the food. We wanted to hear the live reggae band but were told that they didn't start until 9p.

The waiter told us that after 9p, there is a cover charge and you have to be 21 and over to get in but if we got there before 9p - no cover and both my boys (ages 19 & 14) would be admitted.

So we came back at 8:30p and got a great table next to the stage. We had some dessert and listened to the music. It was a great night!
