Universal being bashed by Disneyites!!

Hey guys! Over on the Themeparks board they have a thread about the Universal commercials going and there is alot of UNiversal bashing going on. Just thought I would let you know in case you wanted to go over and set those Disneyites straight.

I wonder why Disney fans always bash Universal? I don't like Disney, but I don't go bashing it. Maybe I should... Wait, no....I'll be MATURE and just let our diversity in themepark taste slide peacefully.

I put a comment saying that if Disney hired hot guys to sing and dance then I would go, but they don't so that's why I've given up my pixie dust and fairy tales. Then I also added that I just don't like Disney due to the 24/7 crowds.

well I posted a reply...but basically about the things I like about Universal and not what I disliked about Disney...well....except for the one onsite resort thing...but I had to prove my point.

I swear I'll be hunted down and shot by one of those Disney people! Those people are evil!!

I don't care. I just posted how I felt. I mean I like Disney (especially the water parks, but even there the hot guys have disappeared), but Universal is sooooooooo much more relaxing!!

yeah....the hot guys and relaxing atmosphere...Universal has become our second home. lol

I don't like Disney...last time I went, was for Night of Joy...and I couldn't find any rides that I enjoyed. I got bored, and watched concerts all night instead.

I love Universal and Disney. I think Universal has the best rides and Disney has great atmosphere (Universal has great atmosphere too). The FOTL pushes Universal up a lot for me though, as it has spoiled me. I don't understand it though, on these boards people are pretty much always great to each other, but they can get really nasty on the Disney side. Some of the time they bash each other, and then they bash Disney. They must have gotten bored and decided to bash Universal.

yeah, I don't get it! It's always that when comparing Disney and Universal that "Disney is perfect" and "Disney is so much greater than Universal" it just drives me insane!!! The attitude of these people is what gets me! I REALLY dislike Disney, but like I said, I don't start an Anti-Disney protest or anything!

You would have thought we were dicussing politics because of how rude and involved some of these people get!!

I'm just glad the rude ones don't come here. The cool Disney fans visit here and have an appreciation for the differences of Universal and Disney. (You know who you are...you people rock!!)

I love theme parks in general, but there is definately a big difference in them. I rate Disney at the top for the experience, but Universal is right there with them and our next trip in August will make it three times apiece for us visiting each park.
You have the next level down parks, like Kings Dominion which we like a lot also, but they are just not in the league of Universal and Disney. Then down a little is Hershey park, and below them are any of the six flags, which are just not nearly as well kept and usually severely understaffed. We have not visited a Busch Gardens yet, so I can not put them in a tier for us.

I rate Busch Gardens higher than Six Flags. I went to Six Flags twice: one in GA and one in IL. My entire family left the one in IL after being there for like 3 hours. Busch Gardens in Tampa is GREAT. Not up to par with Universal and Disney, in some respect, but still a great themepark! Back in the day, when my parents and I went to one themepark a year, for one day...it was always Busch Gardens in Tampa.

The only problem I'm having with the whole Disney people bashing Universal is they go into the park with the idea that it's going to be similar with Disney. Um hello????? Disney has money up the wazoo and Universal employs the teens since A) They're cheaper and B) There are many around!!! **MANY high schools in the area**

But yeah that's the only thing that is bothering me. Go to Universal and enjoy it!! Do the comparison afterwards if you must.

Thank you. I feel included in that. They are all unique experiences. Once again, some people just have problems handling differences.

yeah. I mean, who would want Universal to be a replica of Disney anyway? What fun would that be if everything was the same?

Can you believe that one person would have such a negative experience as that one poster said they had? I mean come on... It is very obvious that she MUST of had a bias before she even entered the parks. If you think about it, it is really kind of sad because they probably did not want to let themselves have a good time or they might feel "guilty" about cheating on WDW. After all, that is the attitude alot of the Disney loyalists have that they shouldn't be going anywhere else. As for me and my family, we will never limit ourselves to just one place. There are too many places to see and things to do.

Well I'm a fan of both Disney and Universal BECAUSE of their differences. What fun would it be if they were both the same? I've gone down to Florida for the past 5 years straight and ALWAYS go to both parks and stay onsite at both places. This year I'm taking the whole family with me (11 of us) and I told them we HAD to visit both places to really enjoy our vacation. I think they are both unique in their own way and I enjoy them both immensely. Some people are just not happy unless they are complaining, so let them complain. You just can't please all the people all the time, so why try?
