Universal Announcement Jan 25th

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Universal Orlando is making announcements next week about features it will introduce in 2012. This will be done via a webcast on Jan. 25th. Subjects will include the opening date of Despicable Me and enhancements to Spider Man as well as other 2012 events and happenings.

What they have said will NOT be included is any news about what is going in to the Jaws area. Here's the link:

One of the other boards said there will be new shows at US during both the day and night. The nighttime show will be narrated by Morgan Freeman and be tied to 100 years of Universal Studios (the studios, not the theme park... in case it's not obvious).

I wonder if they'll specify or clarify when the expansion to WWoHP will take place. They'll probably won't answer that, since that will tie into the Jaws closing.

Right... also, this announcement is about 2012. Neither the Potter expansion nor the Jaws replacement -- whether they are different or one in the same -- would be ready in 2012 in any case.

Also, I read on another forum that they will also announce a new Blue Man Group show. That's a rumor, of course, so take it with the usual grain of salt.

i'm a fan of several of the law & order shows but fail to imagine them as a ride unless it'd be more of an interactive attraction to solve a mystery ala the CSI experience @ the Tropicana in Vegas

We haven't been there while they've had it running since we have only been in December. Do they run it in August?

It is a brand new show that no one has seen or knows anything about. Rumour is that it will be a show that runs during the day and in the evening all the time.

I love taking people to Blue Man and Cirque du Soleil over at Downtown Disney. Both are almost impossible to accurately describe but everyone comes away just blown away.

I can't vouch for the veracity of the rumor but it's not the first place I've seen it lately.

The Law and Order reference is a joke that was shared by a former moderator of this board--kind of an insider joke with some of the old-timers on the board. There will be no Law and Order ride.
