Universal Amex Card and perks discountinued.

I just received a letter from GE Money, they are discontinuing the Universal AMEX card next month. All points need to be redeemed by June 30. They said to call Universal Orlando directly to ask about any other perks and to find out who their next credit card partner may be.

I used the AMEX lounge at Universal Studios in December. It was kind of lame, but they did provide free chips and bottled water.

Sorry to see it go, but I wonder what the future will bring.

No. The lounge is not going anywhere for a while...

Just talked to a guest services member who assured me that the lounge would be there for the "foreseeable future."

At Universal Orlando, you can get access to American Express Lounge, which is located in Universal Studios when you buy any Universal Orlando Multi-Park Ticket or Annual Pass with ANY American Express Card. In addition, you can get $25 off (2 Day Park-to-Park VIP Ticket), $35 off (3 Day Park-to-Park VIP Ticket) or $45 off (4 Day Park-to-Park VIP Ticket) [These are only available online and not available on the phone or gate. I found this by going to Google and searching: Universal Orlando VIP Ticket AMEX and it was the first result, not the one in the Ad section. Additionally, American Express cardholders can get exclusive viewing area at their Mardi Gras parade, chance to win a spot on the float and so forth. You can also call their Guest Contact Center at (407) 224-7840 and see what other discounts or perks you get an AMEX cardholder.
