Universal Adventures of Dreams AND Magic, and an expanding World!

LOL! Don't hang out with me. I'll be encouraging you to spend money on lenses too!

But I won't be encouraging you do to it for fireworks. You need a faster lens when 1) you want a faster shutter speed or 2) you want to use a shallower depth of field or 3) you want to make more commission for your lens salesman.

1&2.) I took some pictures of my dippy sisters doing a slip and slide at my nephews 1st b-day party(it was hot, and the party was outside. I would have joined, but I probably would have broken something) and I got some grand photo's, even catching water splash that wasn't blurred.
But I did get blur on my sister's bike race, and I thought a faster lens may help.

3.)and yeah, he's not getting any of my money!

Since you want a pretty slow shutter speed and a longer depth of field for fireworks, you really don't need a fast lens.

Don't get me wrong, fast lenses are awesome. He just tried to sell you on the one time you don't need one. But you DO need t find a way to stabilize the camera. A remote shutter release is grand too, although you can get by without one in a pinch.

I have a tripod, but I see what you mean by remote shutter release, I always move the camera when I click it.

Yes, I think it's the user...I'm one of those users too. :rotfl:

I say we road trip it to Janet's and threaten to turn off her A/C until she teaches us all we need to know!

Okay, I wouldn't mess with the A/C.......:scared:

Thanks. I took so many and those are the best. Some turned out just awful. I took some on Sat again...I haven't loaded them yet, but I should've used a different lens for those because they were too close and I cut out a lot. Also I had to keep aiming my tripod at where ever they would burst. LOL So that was a bit trickey. I think I might've gotten a few good ones though....even if they are cut off.

Well, the ones you posted were great, so I can't wait to see the others! It was around 105 here on the 4th so I didn't even want to go out on the 4th. Never mind that the walk to and from the spot they do the fireworks is pretty long, so I just bailed.

In a pinch you can also use your self timer to minimize movement when the shutter goes. But that makes it harder to time it with the bursts.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Anything but the A/C!!!!! :scared1:

Actually the heat broke here. "Only" gonna be 93 here today......... :faint:

But it would sure be fun to have you guys road trip it here. The only problem is that there's not one remotely interesting thing here to photograph! :lmao: OK, maybe one or two....... but seriously. That's about it.

Then the (apparently) not so help camera guy lied to me. He said I needed a faster lens. He was trying to push a lens on me, but it wasn't working. I don't get pushed.

Again, I need lessons from you!::yes::

Yeah, he was thinking you were a sucker...i get those kind of saleasman too. When I bought Paige's kindle I asked if any of the other ones like it were better, and he told me to get an ipad...yeah right.

I still have so much to learn. :confused3

I did get a remote last year. It was really cheap on amazon and it had a cord that hooks to the camera. I used that for our party on the 7th.

I just loaded them...they aren't that fabulous. I am disappointed. Oh well.
We had a break in heat too. Last night it was actually kind of chilly outside.

Chilly? That must be a new word. It doesn't compute........:confused3

Keeping to the fireworks theme...Here are a few from my parents party on Sat. night.

So funny. When Cortlyn was small she was SCARED to DEATH of fireworks and I was REALLY scared to for her to see the ones at Disney! :scared: But boy did she LOVE IllumiNations at EPCOT and completely change her mind about them! :worship: There is nothing better than fireworks in her world now!

My niece used to be that way too. She is now 8 and loves them.

Good news!!! Southwest is having a sale. I checked my flights...the one back is the same price as the sale I purchased it with...but the one down is on sale now!!!! YAY! I got a $30 credit for each of us. The only down side is, is that credit needs to be used by April of next year...when I purchased the flights. So I don't know if they will be. I might be able to use mine...depending on a few things I am working and waiting on, but I don't know if Claire will use hers. But I'll watch the flight prices for next year and if something really cheap comes out...I just might have to use it for a short little trip.

Oooo, Awww!!

I like those too! :thumbsup2

Kadence wears earplugs when we go see fireworks,(if we're close) she has always said it hurt her ears.

excluded Sundays..... the day I need a sale : (

Yeah. Not. My flight is about $20 cheaper. Nothing to write home about. I'll think on it, but probaby won't pull the trigger yet. I REALLY wish I had gotten those $140 flights that came up while we were out of town.

I'm still hoping for a big dip in price in Aug. A girl can hope!

I checked all the dates I want to fly down, they are all still the same price. BUT it is looking like my trip will happen. My friend called me over the weekend and asked if I wanted to go to Disney that weekend, she got a free dining offer in the mail. Sadly her uncle is a TA so he is gonna book it for us. But I think he is very mistaken on it because she said that he said it is two SIT DOWN meals and one snack a day for Pop Century (didn't really want to stay there, but it is all her friends can afford), and I am convinced it is two quick service and one snack. Im waiting for her to email me, because I know her uncle is wrong.

Love the garden pics! Some of the older neighborhoods in Toledo have such large lots and mature growth that just looks great.

I love the Andersons too! We stop anytime we're in Toledo, usually at the one by Franklin Park. The deli and meat counters are great, as is the wine section. And where else can you also pick up siding for the house, a bone for Fido and decorate your Xmas tree at the same time? :rotfl:

Your fireworks pics are really nice. The second set has a bit more "artistic" look to them. I'm guessing based on your discussion that it wasn't intended, but I like it!

There is no other store like the Andersons. it's very unique.

The second set wre smaller and I was a lot closer to them. They are ok...I guess the best i could do with what I had. :scared:

Yes, he is wrong. It's only quick service for values. And to get at least 2 sit downs you would have to go deluxe. I have some vry bad advice from some planners in the past too. My first trip that we went with Claire and we did dining, the agent told us that we got credits for each day we had a ticket, so we should add extra days worth of tickets to get more credits. I soon found out how wrong she was...and we did not book with her. ;)

Lets get back to planning Disney!!!

Day 12 ~ Nov. 13

This is our last full day at Disney. Boo Hoo!

But I have another full day planned.

At this point in time the park of choice for the day is Epcot.

epcotday6.jpg

I think we will spend the whole day here, unless we decide there is something we have missed at another park.

We will be having lunch at Via Napoli at 12:45.

italy4.jpg

I am excited to finally try this place out. I have heard mixed reviews...but I think we'll like it. I'm sure it will be much more food than we need. I have even thought about just paying out of pocket to just get a pizza for both of us to share, but most likely I will use the plan.

I hope to explore some and get any last rides done.

Once we tire we will head back to AoA and freshen up and change our clothes. We have another new dinner to try this evening...Spirit of Aloha at 8 PM.

Again I hear mixed reviews on this one, but I thought it was time to give it a try and see what we think about it. I hear so many talk about the wonderful bread....I'm not sure I will like it though, as I hear it's a coconut bread. I'm not much of a fan of coconut at all. But I will give it a try to see if it's something I might like.

I hope the show keeps Claire's interest. I have read some find it boring, while others just love every bit of it. Claire does like to see shows of different types, so this may be a hit with her.

After the show we will make our way back to AoA and get our last nights rest on property..(unless I can somehow think of a way to stay longer. ;) )....

You really do have tons of new stuff planned for this trip. And what do you mean last day? That's not even close to the 20 days I heard you would be gone! :lmao:

I think last days are so sad! But, it sounds like a great last hurrah!

I can't wait to see what you think if Spirit of Aloha, I really would like to do that next year!

I will let you in on a secret...I have looked at adding another cruise at the end...but I just can't do it...too much money and too many days of missed school.

I'm excited to try it. I'll try to get a lot of pictures. I'm in the not so good section because of the dining plan seating...but I think we'll be ok.
