The day at sea sounds right up my ally. Just relaxing in all the Disney fun!
Ahhhhhh, a day at sea! Wonderful! Unfortunately they are usually too short.
Okay, so here are a few hints .....
Have breakfast at the Royal Palace
sign up for a tasting or two
go to the cooking demonstration
have lunch at the Royal Palace
or have brunch at Palo
enjoy some quiet time on deck 4!
have some coffee at the Cove Cafe
see a movie (and/or the show)
(forgot .... is this your last full day on board? Then the dreaded packing would come in too)
Now, did I give you enough ideas on how to spend your day? If not, just give me a shout and I'll give you some more ideas.![]()
Wish I had one of those lounge chairs right now and was relaxing. It's so hot here and we need to have the A/C looked at before it can be used this summer, so I'm sweating it. I think it would be a whole lots more tolerable on the lounge chair on the Dream!
I bet a whole day at sea is fun. A day to really check things out, instaed of being tempted to do other things.

Okay I subbed to learn about Universal !!!![]()
Karin... you should be a cruise director! I know I say this will be a relaxing day...but I laugh at myself...I know it won't be.
That lounger would be great. We are really hot here too. I can't believe how it just jumped up to close to 90 this weekend. I did turn the AC back on...it's heaven by the way.
I can't wait...One thing I really stressed to my family was that we need a 4 nighter verses the 3 nighter...and my Mom agreed. The cruise will just fly by.
Hi Rosie....you will learn more about cruising right now here.I'm working on that portion of my upcoming trip...but I think you are looking to cruise too right? I se you subbed also to the Universal TR. I'm a little slow at writing lately, but I will have another update ready tomorrow if all goes as planned.
Those days at sea are very nice! I remember in 2000 the pool was not too crowded. But of course this is 12 years ago, and a different ship so that may have changed lol. Sounds like an amazing day. Have I mentioned lately that I am jealous?
We loved the theaters on the ship! Lots of great recent movies.
I figured I'd sub to both and then I can learn it all !!!![]()
Great job on the flip flops! I'm in love with them and the Chip & Dale shirt. Too cute!
Love the purchases, Jen! They are all great.
And those flip-flops look great. Are they hard to make? I have seen the video you posted, but I wasn't sure they would turn out just like the ones in the video, now yours are even nicer than the video ones!
Do you think this is something my pupils (13/14 years old) could do?
Very easy. Claire and her friends each made a pair this weekend. They are 6 and 7 year olds. now I just gave them a bunch of ribbon and let them tie them on however they wanted to. No pattern. But the ones I amke, I follow a pattern to give them a uniform look. I think preteen/teens would have no problem with a pattern though. Be sure to get a pinking shears to trim the ends down and it also keeps the ribbon from fraying. The patriotic ones I did first, but didn't have the pinking shears yet, and they were already starting to fray. you also want to be sure you cute the sides short enough so they don't drag on the ground, and get filthy or trip someone.
I bought cheap flip flops at Hobby lobby (I think they were about $1.40 each) and then for the girls I just looked for clearance ribbon. It does take a lot of ribbon, of course depending on the size too. I got some for them at 25-50 cents a roll. not the colors I would want to use, but for them it worked great.
For the ones I made, I paid more per roll, but I bought them when each roll was 50% off too. Hobby Lobby has a lot of sales like that. I'm not sure if you have something like that over there. I also got some ribbon at Joann fabrics.
The thicker ribbon, you do need longer strands because they are harder to tie being so thick.
Thanks for the heads up, Jen!
I need to get a pair of flip-flops to try it out on. Maybe I can do it for the cute African-Austrian (sounds funny![]()
) girl in our house.
I guess I will get some ribbon for the kids either in a hobby store (looking for ones that are on sale) or from ebay. No Hobby Lobby or anything like it here![]()
I LOVE that Chip and Dale shirt!
Your very crafty! I don't have the patience to make anything I give up to easy![]()
Great job on the flip flops! I especially like Claire's black dress, it looks so good on Claire!
I'm still waiting on one of those tie die Mickey shirts, buut it looks like I will have to make on myself!![]()
I have a wonderful Dis/facebook friend, Kristi, who goes to a Disney outlet quite a bit. She picked me up a couple of cute items and sent them to me. Thanks so much Kristi!!!!
These sweatpants were only $5!
The sweats may go on the trip with us, as they are nice and comfy and would be great for Claire during down/colder times.
I showed Kadence on FB the flip flops and she thought they were cool. She wants some, so I told her that when Old Navy runs their $1 flip flop sale, we'd get a pair top experiment on. Wish me luck!
The Chip & Dale top is cute, perfect for AK!
You're welcome!!
I love all your purchases. That Golden Mickey dress is really cute.
I think we're going to make another trip to that Disney Store on Monday (Memorial Day). Just another "one last trip to this Disney store before our trip"!!
DD found a cute embroidered backpack she thought she'd like to get for her birthday/trip, and I tried to get her to get it, but she said "nah, changed my mind". So guess what, she wants it now.... Oh, well, a great excuse to head back down that way for last minute birthday/Disney shopping!
Caught up here too!Love all the new outfits.
