Universal Admission

We do a lot of Disney. But once every 2 or 3 trips we like to go to Universal. The last time was 2001 where we spent 1 day at US and one day at IOA. We mostly like US but there are a few things at IOA that we would like to see but we definitely don't need a whole day just for IOA. I'd like to spend 1 day at both Universal Parks.

What is the best way to do this? Is there a 1 day admission that lets you go to both parks in the same day. I'm ok with purchasing multiple day admission to get park hopping and saving the unused days for a later trip if they offer that kind of admission. What would YOU do?

When we were there in October they did have a 1 day/2 park ticket. It is only available at the gates. I believe it was about $85 for adults and $75 for a child. You’re better off doing the internet special of 5 days for the price of 2 ($99.95) with unlimited park to park access. But then again if you can only attend one day, this may benefit you.

also right now they are running a special on there web site if you buy an adult pass you get a free childs pass.

be careful of their new pay for 2 days get 5 days - before the days went indefinitely - now there is a limit - all days must be used either 10 or 14 days after - I think.

Yes but if they are spending $85 for one day spend the $95 for 4 more days is worth it even if they decide to hop back to just ride the Mummy one day. Or do what we did. We gave our tickets to my brother and he used them after we left. I bet someone would be very happy to get the extra days you don't use.

the buy 2 get 5 is UO's deepest discount right now. the bonus is you can buy them online, not wait at the ticket counter when you get to the park. but once you activate them the days are consecutive, like a flexticket.

If we got the 5 days for 2 tickets, do they allow hopping? And if I go on day 1, can I wait to go again until day 3 or is the ticket void as soon as you don't go for 1 day?

yes you park hop with this pass.

and yes you don't have to kept going all 5 days - just so you know that it quits the 5th (I really though it was the 10th day) after your first use it.

So, basically, it's a pass that expires 5 days after the first use and you can use it as many times as you want in between...

exactly. the 2 day 2 park pass is the same price, but it does not expire. once you activate this ticket at the gate, you'll sign the back of the ticket and sign a registry for security. each day you use it you sign in to make sure no one else is using your ticket. they're going after disney's ads, giving you the both parks for $20.00 per day.

Do you mean that the tickets that I bought last year on the pay for 2 and get 5 days might still have days left on them? We only went three days, but I thought the just expired after five days. They didn't?

momof2inPA,

I have gotten the deal for the last 3 years and they all have expired 5 days from the first day of use.

Whew! I thought I might have thrown away some good tickets, although they might still be around here somewhere.
