Any idea how much United (or Orbitz) charges to extend my flight by a few days?

Thanks!

How do I change or cancel my airline ticket?

Things to know if you want to change or cancel your ticket:

Expect to pay change fees and fare difference. Total change fees typically average about $130.00 per ticket. You also may be required to pay a fare difference, if your new flight costs more.
You cannot change the name on an airline ticket or give the ticket to someone else to use. Also, you cannot exchange a ticket from one airline to another.
Read the rules and restrictions for your ticket. They're available in the "View full trip details" in "My Trips "
Go to My Trips
Click "View full trip details " to view itinerary information
Click "Fare Rules " at the bottom of the air itinerary display
Check whether the ticket is refundable or non-refundable
See what change/exchange fees apply by clicking on the link "Change/cancel airline ticket "
Review the deadline for changes/cancellations. In some cases, the value of a ticket will go to $0.00 if you do not make changes/exchanges before the deadline.
E-tickets: Call at least 24 hours before your original departure to change or cancel a ticket.

Paper tickets: Call at least 14 days before departure. This will allow enough time for you to return the original ticket to our service center and for Orbitz to ship you the new ticket.
Please Note:

Passengers holding non-refundable tickets for American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United and US Airways should be particularly aware of deadlines and restrictions .
Tickets are non-transferable. Once issued, you cannot change the name on an airline ticket or give the ticket to someone else to use. Also, you cannot exchange a ticket from one airline to another.

I don't know the restrictions on Orbitz flights, they could be more restrictive than tickets bought through the airline directly. But here is how it works on UA.

They will charge a $100 fee per person to change, as long as the fare you originally booked is still available on the new flight you want. If so, that's it. If it is not available, then you pay the fare differance PLUS the $100 fee per person.

The only way to find out for sure is to contact Orbitz and find out if they have more restrictions.

Thanks you guys! Yeah, I looked at Orbitz (and then called to be sure) and it IS $130 per ticket. :guilty: I guess we won't be extending after all.
