Hi!
The DIS boards have inspired me to do so many things that I would have NEVER in a million years thought of doing myself. I really want to make this trip extra special for my DD3.5 this will be our first family visit!! Does anyone have any Unique ideas that will make the trip extra magical??

We are going the first week in December.

My ideas so far..

* bring some gold glitter to sprinkle on things through out the day to say Tink is flying by...

*Make a special Airline meal in a Disney Lunchbox with Disney themed snack and small toy

*Confetti Bath's at night

Are there special things that are Unique in the parks that aren't widley known? Or is there anything that you all do extra for your kids that give the vacation that extra something??

:listen:

if it is his birthday soon. get him a happy birthday pin at guest relations in any park.also the guest of honor badges with his name will let all the cms know his name and pay special attention of him.have fun planning!

I'm sure I got these ideas from someone wonderful on this board, but here are a few things I did for my little girl:

Left Tink gifts for her to find in our room with a little glitter sprinkled around ( I kept it to a minimum so as to not incovenience Mousekeeping!).

Tucked a small "I'll miss you" gift in her carry on for the return trip home. I got Princess crayons and a coloring book, a lanyard pin she had wanted but couldn't find in trade, and some Princess fruit snacks. I added a note from Belle, her favorite princess, thanking her for the visit and asking her to come back soon. She LOVED it!

Have fun. I think being the mom at Disney is simply the best!

When we went in May (our first trip ever!!) my ds 6 picked out some gold mickey ears at the gift shop at WL. We were in a hurry and did not get his name put on. The next day when we were at MK I popped into a gift shop while dh had all the kids on a ride and had his name put on. I put in back in the back of the stroller and said nothing. When he went to put them back on he saw his name and was blown away! I told him see - Disney is magic! It truly was a magical moment.
Just yesterday he took out his ears and pointed out (in a ver grown up voice) "I have the proof right here - at Disney ANYTHING is possible!" I could not be happier he looks at it that way!

A tip I swiped from the Restaurants forum:
I am going to print out a "fancy" invitation to CRT lunch and mail it to DS. I know he won't care so much about princesses, but it will be neat for him to get something in the mail.

I will have a gift basket of his favorite candy and a little toy or two delivered to the resort.

We are going to try to surprise him with the Illuminations cruise - but he has been nosing around my planning notes so maybe he won't be all that surprised.

I have been giving him Disney Dollars every week so he will have his own money at Disney.

We have the "free pin" coupon from the back of the Birnbaum Guide and we also have the 3 Kellogg's UPC codes for a free pin, so he will get 2 free pins when we go to DTD. Hopefully he will also get a pin with our Magical Express stuff. We bought 2 complete sets of the Energizer battery pins so he has one set to keep and one set to trade. By the time he is finished I think he will have a respectable little collection.

Be careful with that bath confetti. My DS turned out to be allergic to it! Make sure to rinse your little one thoroughly with plain water before she gets out of the tub. :)

I mailed letters to my kids from Mickey before we left....actually, I made friends with a Disney CM who I mailed the letters to first, then she mailed them back to us, so my skeptical 10 year old son would see the Florida postmark. Here are the letters:

To: My Pal, Jake:

So, the Connors and the Faulkners have decided to come see me and my friends soon, huh? I hope you are as excited as I am! I hope you are brave enough to ride the Tower of Terror! Maybe one night you can stay to watch me fight bad guys in the “Fantasmic” show at MGM-Disney Studios! Whew! That’s a hard job, but someone has to do it!

I can’t wait for you to see all the exciting things at Disney World. Be sure to wave at me in the parades so I’ll know you made it here safely!

It is so hot right now. So, please wear your sunscreen and drinks lots of water. You’ll need your energy to do all the fun things here. Speaking of energy, I will make sure you get your tummy nice and full when you come to Chef Mickey’s to eat. My friends and I will make you a delicious dinner that I am sure you will love!

I can’t wait to see you real soon. Maybe I will see you on Space Mountain…or the Haunted Mansion…or Splash Mountain…or Rock-n-Roller coaster….man, how will you decide what fun ride to do first?! See ya, Pal!

This one went to my 4 year old daughter:

Dear Presley,

I just heard some great news!! I have been told that you and your family will be coming to Disney World for a visit in just a few weeks! WOW! I am so excited! Be sure to stop by my house to see how big the tomatoes and pumpkins are getting! You’ll have to excuse the mess in my house, though. Donald and Goofy have decided to do some handy work at my house. I have found out that those two are not very handy after all! Uh-oh!

I can’t wait to see you at dinner during your trip. I will be there cooking up a great meal for you. I really hope you like everything. Be sure to be a good eater so you will have enough energy to do all the fun things I have planned for you!

Don’t forget to pack some sunscreen because it has been really hot down here! I can’t wait for you to ride the rides and see the shows. They are so much fun. I am sure you will have a great time!

Well, Pal, I have to go now. Minnie & I are getting ready for a parade . I’ll see you soon!

You could have a fairy godmailer send a postcard from WDW to your DD. I will be there from 8/24 - 9/3. PM me if you would like me to do it with her name, address, favorite characters, and if you want anything in particular written.

You probably already know this one, but every time I go I love getting the mickey mouse wake up call.

Maybe a suprise princess dress or tiara? What girl doesn`t love a tiara!

Thats EXACTLY when i will be down there!

The Mickey wake up call is great :)

What I did on our first trip was place gifts in our room while the kids were sleeping on our first night and when they woke up they knew Mickey came to visit them and left gifts! They loved it...

Similar to above. The first night we are there, I nip out to the resort store and pick something up that I know they would love. I put it on their bed and when they wake up in the morning, they think Tinkerbell delivered it to them because they were so good on the drive down.

When we leave (we have always driven -- 22 hour drive) I will place a gift on each of the children's seats in the car to find before our long journey home. Usually that gift will be something that they really wanted, but I wouldn't buy them at the time.

This year they really want a Mickey Pal, I am in the process of finding out if I can order one to our resort room and have it waiting for them when we arrive. They will be blown away.

No matter what you do to make your child's trip extra magical, it is the memories of the looks on their faces that will be cherished forever!
