Unique Staterooms?

Hi! Just wondering if there is a website or post with information about the unique stateroom layouts. I just learned about the 8A cabins on the Dream and Fantasy. I am wondering what other categories are special and may give extra room. Thank you!

It's just like any other stateroom. You book it if there is availability. If looking online, you'll find them listed under "deluxe family oceanview staterooms", in the forward section, on decks 5 and 6. They look very boxy in the diagrams compared to regular staterooms.

These special 8A and 5E staterooms are only on the Dream and Fantasy, by the way.

I will add for general info that cabins 5520, 5522, 5020 and 5022 are the 8As with the dividing wall in the stateroom. The other 8As have no dividing wall, but rather a large open space, and sometimes a pole.

All of these staterooms have only one bathroom, not the split bath that most staterooms get. A few of the 8As (but none of the ones with the dividing wall) have only a shower, and no bathtub. You'll have to check reviews to find out which ones have a tub, and which have a shower. The ones that do have a bathtub have the rectangular tub, not the round tub.

Room 2004 and it's twin on the other side (2500?) on Wonder (and Magic, I suppose) seem larger because of the curve of the ship. It allows for a bench seat under the window, and there's room for an extra chair between the nightstand the the sofa. We like that room and have it booked again later this year.

Thank you for this. I was booked in room 2118, but was torn about switching to 2004 on the Wonder. Do you by chance remember how large the window was in this room? I've switched already, just kind of excited to get more info about the room if I can.

I was going to book a 8A for our Jan. 2019 cruise on the Fantasy. I found out it didn't have a split bathroom so I changed my mind. We are silver level and the 8A room I had thought about booking was available for several weeks after opening day silver booking--I kept checking because I couldn't decide if I wanted to try it or not. I still think it looks cool, but not having a split bath is a real turn off for us.

We booked OGT on our last cruise and got room 6014 on the Fantasy - accessible 8A. The room was amazing and HUGE! DH paced it out at appx 400 sqft. We loved it so much we booked room 5020 for one of our upcoming cruises. The divider wall will be different, but we loved the extra space. We had 2 large portholes. Of course as an accessible room you can't just choose it, but the pictures will at least give you an idea.

I actually prefer the larger single bath to the split. I feel like I’m dressing in a coffin in the split bath rooms. Elbows in! At least I feel like I can move my arms about my body when I have the single. Any other hotel room on the planet has a solo bath. I was in the 8A last September on the Dream (with divider wall) with a friend. Having the divider wall made it like we each had our own room. It was fabulous! Since we spend more of the room time NOT in the bathroom it’s easy to prioritize where space is better utilized. The bathroom was easy to juggle between us. In a pinch we could have run to the potty in the public space. Or, not that we needed to utilize it, there’s also the spacious showers in the gym for adults. When I cruise with friends we tend to be more leisurely about getting ready for dinners, etc. It just works. So don’t be too afraid of those single baths. They can be okay!

You’ll love that divider wall! It’s like having a suite!

I agree about the size of the baths that are split, they are sooooo small. If it were just my dh and I cruising, one bath wouldn't be such an issue, but for our family, a split just makes it easier. I know we could use the gym showers, but honestly that reminds me of my college dorm situation and would be more of a hassle. We have 3 baths at home, so I'm a little spoiled when it comes to not having to share.lol A couple of questions that I hadn't noticed before about the room. Is there only one closet? And I see a desk, but what about the dresser and additional drawer area that replaced the trunk storage area they used to have? It looks like there's a lot more floor space but where's all the drawers/shelves?????? The rooms with the split wall still had all the storage areas if I remember correctly, but the room in the pic above looks like it's missing all of it.

I get ya on the bathrooms ituation. Even when we’ve sailed other lines with our grown boys we had 4 of us using a single bath. We made it work. Maybe with girls it’s harder, I dunno. LOL!

I was in 5020. The configuration was different than the pics above. That’s the trick to the 8As, there’s more than 1 configuration. We had a TON of storage. You can see the room in a video (not mine) HERE.

We have 5520 on the Dream booked for back to back cruises in January. Couldn't believe it was available for both - so we can just leave our things unpacked. It looks like this:

8a on the 6th deck sleep 4 in some rooms. We have 2 cabins booked. One has 4 people. The 6th floor do not have the wall, some have the pole. No split bathroom in any, and most have a shower only, no tub. Out of the 6 cabins on the 6th floor, only 2 have a tub shower combo. I had to make sure my daughter got that one, while we took shower only. On deck 5, I believe they all only sleep 3, but not sure if all 6 cabins do. They have the wall divider. But because they are near the vibe and above the WDW theater, I choose 6th floor.
