Unique Gift for $25??? HELP!

We do this also & it is difficult buying stuff. Here's some of the more popular ones we've had. (BTW- I have no idea what I'm buying this year.)

* fireproof safe filled with 'treasures' (candy jewelry and silver and gold Hershey kisses

* nice flashlight

* emergency kits (weather radio, ponchos, first aid, etc)

* fleece blankets

* air mattress

Thanks for whoever mentioned the digital key chains at Walgreens. I'd thought about that, but couldn't find any cheap enough.

I really wanted to do a bathroom basket this year, but DH says it's a dumb idea. I was thinking: Uncle John's Bathroom Reader book, handheld electronic Poker (or other game), roll of toilet paper (Christmas themed if you can find it), and maybe a scrub brush or plunger.

Gosh, I wish my family would do something like this. Unfortuantely they refuse to. Personally I would rather get one nice gift that costs $25 then 5 crappy $5 gifts...:confused3

I love the movie idea. You can also look at subscriptions to Netflix. The plans are cheap and its super convienient. I would love that!

I think a fleece blanket is a good idea or maybe a car cleaning kit could work. Sometimes you can find kits from $20-$25

Bumping this up in case anyone has any other suggestions...

We do this with DH's family. We don't specify unisex gifts though. The guys buy a 'guy' gift and the women get a 'girl' gift. You don't have to take one or the other.

In past years there have been spa baskets, a paper shredder, various tools, spice collection, small pottery pieces, small home appliances (waffle makers, etc.), books, games, auto emergency kits, beer samplers, wine samplers. I was going to give a basket of candles this year but we decided to do a White Elephant this year so now I have to find a gag gift that we already have in our house.

I did a family movie night gift one year that was pretty popular. Blockbuster gift certificate, microwave popcorn, some boxes of movie candy.

We just did a Yankee Swap yesterday (same idea as white elephant). The gifts that were being taken away from people were Seinfeld Scene It and a HUGE box of chocolates. A fight almost broke out over the chocolates. LOL The box of chocolates had to measure 24"x30".:lmao:

Another "Dirty Santa" here. The animated Christmas characters (like dancing and singing reindeer) and blankets (especially Razorback and Cardinals) go well.

I'm halfway through rounding up gifts for our Dirty Santa gift exchange. I'm almost done with an afghan that I'm crocheting. Since we will be the only ones attending this year's Christmas that was present last year, we are taking the chocolate fountain that my son received in last year's Dirty Santa Exchange. No one will know that it is a regift. ;) I'm going to Lowes this week to pick up a "manly" gift for my husband to take. Just need one more and thought I'd get the game Apples to Apples but after reading about the large box of chocolates, I'm not so sure.
