Are there still more (and unexpected) characters you can interact with at the MNSSHP? Are the villains (like Maleficent, The Evil Queen) usually out for photos?

Also, do the non-villian characters still appear in costumes? I heard on an old podcast the other day that the Winnie the Pooh characters were out in costumes, and that Stitch made an appearance in an Elvis costume.

It seems like the reviews of MNSSHP have not been as favorable in recent years, so I'm wondering if there are still opportunities for these more unique character interactions that were mentioned on an old (2008) podcast.

Yup all the villians are out. Some wander around the hub, some do the stage show and come down for meet and greets only for a few minutes. The other characters are dressed in costume (Fab 5, Pooh and company, Chip and Dale, Stitch, etc) and then there are the Princes and Dwarfs.

Hey, we got pics with Jack Sparrow last year - we did the first MNSHP, went to get pics with Captain Hook first thing (no good reason) and there he was! Even his handler said she hadn't known it until that night!

DH and I did the happy dance, waited about 40 minutes and got our pics! We also had a BLAST with Cinderella's stepsisters and stepmother! (Stepmother reminded me of some aging Southern, ahem, Belles I know. :lmao:)

We got the 7 Dwarfs' photo, just to say we've gotten one. Got a bunch of other meet-and-greets that you normally don't see.

I have to say that the MNSSHP was the best time we've ever had at WDW. We met so many unique characters that night. Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters, Maleficent, etc...and what I always wanted to get, a picture with all of the dwarfs. We also loved the costumes that Mickey and Minnie were in as well as Donald and Daisy...so fun...

I think that last year was tough because of the tighter spaces to operate in due to Toon Town Fair being closed. It also seemed that Disney may have sold more tickets than in the past--the parties seemed more crowded than previous years.

But other than the crowd situation, I've not seen many bad reviews of it. Our family loves it!
