. And, once it hits a television show, movie, or celebrity, watch out....it will soar in popularity! Years ago, I like Jasper, a good old fashioned name. Sandra Bullock's boyfriend in 27 days (or something like that) was Jasper! Today, there are 2 young Jaspers at our rather large church. Madison for girls, strictly a Splash! with Darryl Hannah and Tom Hanks creation; today, a top 10 name.

Griffin is perhaps trendy, but there are barely any of them around here. I know of 2 besides my own, and we live in a large town. The 2 that I know are both 2 years younger.finz2left said:I agree with the ealier poster who commented on generational names. Honestly, the majority of names posted here don't seem unique to me at all; in fact, they seem rather trendy. What we like, our parents didn't ... perhaps that's why we like them![]()

What I like now, Oliver (kind of popular) Duncan (still a bit trendy), Griffin (very trendy), and Everett ( for C. Everett Coop. Rising in popularity, but not "trendy" yet).
I'm not sure, but you can go to the social security website and look to see how common names are for as long as they've had records.la79al said:Is there a website or something where you can go and find out where a name was used?
