Today the world's largest operating steam train make an hour long "whistle" stop in my hometown of Mankato, MN.
Hundreds of people showed up and you could walk right up to it. It was a pretty cool site to see. It was hard to get a full shot of the train without having people in the pic.
My dad is a huge train buff and he has a hard time getting around (polio) and so I took him down to see it. It was really fun to spend of quality time with him.
Here are all of the images
Here are some of my favorite images:
Pulling in
Coming past
A passenger car with observation
Before the mass of people got around it.
Looking at the front:

The tail of of it:
Super Close Up of the number:
Different Focus
When it was about to leave we left and drove right out of town to see it going at a faster speed. Too bad the guy in the orange moved right into my view. Oh well... what else is photoshop for right?
Full Speed ahead
